I think when changing cars the insurance company takes an 'administration' fee. I have had bout 7 cars now and every time i get one its always half way through a year and i get stung time for a fee. Basically this is a fee (anywhere between 65 and 150 sheets) the erk's in the company charge to change your records plus a little bit of profit as they know you dont want to lose a years no claims for the sake of a few months left on the policy.

Campaign, Got any pis of your car? Cant see any in the members gallery and it sounds nice
-
Havnt seen one on a c but have seen a few home made ones on other cars that look ok. Do you mean a roll over 'bar' more than an actual 'cage'? Where the bar is bolted on at the strut top and the chassis I fancied one myself. All you need is someone competent in welding/fabrication of aluminium tubing, then polish it up. Try looking in the tellow pages for someone to do it, well its worth a try. You said its for show so the structural integrity is not so important as long as its safe It will mean either butchering your rear seats or removing them altogether tho

Colebrook & Burgess in silverlink. They guys were very helpful and according to an ex vag technician £48 /hr is good. They will drop you off home while servicing your car and pick you up again after its done. They didnt charge me for a VAG-COM diagnostic to check the camshaft sensor either.

Is that Campaign rare or Storm rare or not evan as rare as any of the above?

My orange paint sticker says Black Magic, is that right?

  Did you fork out for the repairs? Did he admit to the damage? Were they with MVRA (motor vehicle repairers association) and do they have much clout anyway? Do you think its worth poppin in every so often to have a look?
-
How can you trust people to look after your car tho? Its always on my mind, especially when he has the keys with a few young lads working in the garage! I should have more trust but it frightens the life outta me. I took note of the mileage just incase. Does anyone else get this paranoid?

He seemed busy but why cant i drive the car around for the week, then call me up when he is ready to work on it? THeres not alot wrong with the paint just 2 scratches and 2 chips with rust in. As i said no dents
-
Yeah and the guy has the classic 'she's not with me' pose
-
My Corrado went in this morning (Mon) to get the drivers side sprayed and he said it wouldnt be done till the end of the week say Thurs/Fri  . Does this sound right? It has no dents just some scratches and chips with corrosion in Dont know weather i trust the guy with my car all week but we'll see

I would put it in the trader but you can get allsorts of wierdoes/criminals ringin up. At least this way i can vet people before disclosing personal details dubster82 seems like we've hijacked this poor fellas thread :) , sorry morpheus20170

Thats a damn shamee too, if was after a VR that would be it for me. It was a black Corrado i was after to start off with. :( Hope you can sell it. You could PX it for Jims Saxo! Well my car was advertised on here but there was no interest so i put a note in my window for 1 day and got a reply. If this falls through it'll be the trader. Or i could keep it for a bit :?

Grass! Thats cheating

Am i missing something? :? ...[/quote:ecc2d] Sorry wrong engine
-
All fixed. Percy from Austrin Engineering did a good job and reckons its stronger now than it ever was eventhough it ended up costing £80 (new plugs etc). He used a special hose to blow out any swarf and im confident its all above board as he does the job for VAG. He also reckons that aluminium swarf will not scratch the steel liner of the cylinder. After speaking to 2 specialists they seem to know what theyre talking about so im happy :D

Remember to remove the gtir bonnet vent, coloured valve caps and 5" Peco back box      sorry
