  1. I can see this thread turning into an episode of brass eye!
  2. Have you hard the new M3? :thumb right: :porc: :dwarf: :cat:
  3. Fitted mine on Tuesday, and can now get in through the drivers door. Cheers dude!
  4. Shut it you slag! I've already told you I have a mamoth corrado from the brink article for you. We could do a good article on the strip down and going over of Mic's relations though :norty: but point taken, we'll take pics etc.
  5. :) Sadly I won't be in a position to buy the parts for mine till after the summer, but if you would both like a bit of 2-way rado stripping and fixing fun, then we could work out a long weekend, both come down to mine and we'll get on the case. The main benefits will be the tools, engine hoist(tractor), redundancy of labour while on some tasks, and the fact I have a vast quantity of parts knocking around. ;) Can I call shotgun on your mum first, or do I have to wait till she's in line of sight?
  6. any oppertunity to poke your tool into a little hole full of crap  :pukeright: Long live the double entendre!
  7. I'm not 100% that my spare box is decent though. Need to whip the end plate off and have a quick look inside. The circlip I was talking about would be deep in the box, you could pull the shift tower out of the top, just to look at it and stuff see if there's anything obvious with that. I'll bring both, just to hedge my bets ;) Any idea on when you might like to start this excercise?
  8. I've had a lump of crap block the little hole in the top of the radiator for the expansion hose. just needed to poke it out with a small drill bit and all was well again.
  9. Depends, I wouldn't pay more than £100. I actually paid £35 recently, but some people try to sell them for closer to £200. I know there is one about to become free on a car that you could use for spares. It has had lots of torque through it recently so it probably will be getting a bit sleepy. I've got a spare one too but I need to use it in conjunction with my current box to build a decent unit for my vr. I could let you have some of the chaff that's left over afterwards ;) I was quite surprised by the exact manner of how shonkey your box felt at stanford, and just wonder if a circlip has broken and is allowing the 3rd gear set to move on the shaft or something. it's a bit like my 5th gear issue which I think is caused by the bolt undoing from the end of the shaft. We were talking about whipping your engine out for chains and cams etc anyway, so it could just get a different box thrown on when we reassemble I suppose. While we're at it, we can bolt the turbot manifold on and sort out the charge cooler and you could introduce me to your sister/mum etc.....
  10. I just made a brown fish Dave.
  11. Try bridging the connectors and try to borrow a infra red thermometer, just because your gauges say a certain temp, doesn't mean you are actually getting to them.
  12. Yes, Yes, Not unless the brake fluid resevoir has been completely drained, but it won't do any harm. remember to do the ABS unit and Mastercylinder.
  13. Well, sometimes you've just got to go for it, full bore....
  14. Get a plastic bag and put it on the seat so you can swivel around easier. Or a large rubber penis, that would make it even easier.

    I got bored...

That's a really good idea, bit like a more measured more advanced version of the 5th injector on turbot technics kits or on old cosworths. Great thinking! :)
  16. A68. Fantastic scenery, great stretches of road, to many speed cameras :(
  17. I'd use a combination of the both guides. Don't worry about the bottom ball joint, ARB, or steering ball joint. I think they must be referring to removing the hub or something. Just undo the top bolts, remove the 2 bolts into the hub, and remove the shock/spring unit. I would fit nice new top mounts all round while you are at it. but you might find that you can't do the nuts on the rear mounts up until there is weight on the suspension to compress them a bit. Also don't do the bolt that runs through the bottom of the rear shocks up tightly until the car is back on it's wheels otherwise you can damage the rear shock.

    I got bored...

Awesome! The front 4 injectors just spray into the plenum, and the other 4 inject directly into the inlet paths in the head by the looks of things?? Does that give you any problems with fueling?? When I get bored I normally just end up knocking one out, I really ought to put my time to more productive use, might actually manage to finish a project then! :D
  19. Mk3 calipers will ft a rado and look different to the mk2s we have as standard, but I don't know exactly what they look like. Here's a standard rado item.
  20. The top picture seems to be missing the return spring. I think. It is a bit early for me though. I've got a calier in my boot. hang on...
  21. And you don't want a bad BJ. Hit it harder with a hammer to help loosen it too. :)
  22. No worries dude. Pleased you got it sorted. My glovebox light irritated me for ages, it was only because I spent an hour on messenger with Dinkus, Supercharged and Therapor that I eventually tracked it down.
  23. Check the fuses, the VRs are a bit weird and the factory ecu immobiliser is wired via several different fuses depending on who built the car. My guess is that the rear spoiler fuse blew as the spoiler is sticky, and the immobiliser is connected via that fuse. Mine wouldn't run without the glovebox light fuse. You can unplug the spoiler in the boot for the time being. And do a search, this has come up before...
