  1. The thing hanging down is a broken exhaust rubber. not the end of the world, and it looks like it's been running pretty rich with the thick soot on the tailpipe.

    288 bolts

Carrier bolts? The ones that hold the carrier to the hub, or the ones that hold the caliper to the carrier and let it slide? The carrier to hub bolts ought to be the same. The carrier to caliper bolts are completely different. and are in the form of 2 pins with allen key heads that the caliper slides up and down. Yes, I imagine you could put 280mm disks on, but I wouldn't be in a massive hurry to do it.
  3. Furthest distance from master cylinder to shortest. So.... For vehicles with ABS Rear right, rear left, front right, front left, abs pump, master cylinder For vehicles without ABS Rear right, rear left, front left, front right, master cylinder if there is a nipple, not on all of the non ABS master cylinders.
  4. Hmmm, sounds like the timing could have jumped few teeth. Have you had the timing chain tensioner changed? Doesn't sound good dude...
  5. Look for a 9A or 6A 2.0 bottom end, use your head and cams, and budget £300 to have the head rebuilt. That's the route I'd take. HTH.
  6. It's a 16v. Probably 2l, and as has been suggested is probably the pipe for snuffling at the emmisions.
  7. Well, the clutch didn't seem to slip, and she had fallen for it so agreed to buy it, and left a £20 deposit. Shortly after this her brother in law got on the phone and started ranting about how crap they were and that he had a fiat stilo which was far better. So I assume she's currently on a 600 mile round trip to look at it instead. Families eh?? Nevermind, cheers for the replies.
  8. Lovely colour. I did see your thread on edition, but you only had the 1st pic at the time and I couldn't really make it out. There are a few people who like tracking their rados on here, and I wouldn't be surprised if you bumped into them at castle coombe. Welcome to the forum btw.

    F**d Pumas

I heard the larger wheels and stiffer suspension on the racing pumas make them pretty uncomfortable on UK roads.
  10. Tilt the sunroof up, get hold of the linign and pull it back a bit, it should detach from the roof now, you'll probably have to let the lining down and slide it forward, to get the flap back flush (you'll see what I mean) and slide it back into the roof. You can then get at 4 torx screws that go through the mech into the panel, they should be the only ones that go horizontally outwards and are right under the panel itself. They're at all 4 corners.
  11. My moonroof is slightly noisier than the standard one as they don't fit perfectly. But, it's so much lighter inside the car now.
  12. No problems, but you are mad fitting a valver to your G60, Neil. And not meaning to be a pedant, (although by saying this I probably am) but the ABF is 236mm high , where as the KR and 9A are 220mm high, so a total of 16mm difference in block height. :dorky: (rods are 144mm in the KR/9A and 159mm in the ABF/2E (8v) :dorky: :dorky: :dorky: ) If only someone had a helpful website with information like this, and how the change in rod legnth has advantages.... ;)
  13. Moonroof has been a good one.
  14. :) I've had a few odd messages already...
  15. Oh... I thought this was going to be a good thread about animals. :(
  16. :) Great, let me know when you want to have a crack at her. Should have loads more space inside soon. :)

They are supposed to be good driving cars in fairness. Isn't there a rado vs Puma test in one of the old car mags, or was it just rado Vs Cougar?
  18.   :) You seen my facebook profile today?
  19. Just been to look at a 1999 Renault Clio 1.6 with a mate. Anyone got any experience of them? This one has had cambelt done, fsh, 82k, few marks on the paint, and I'm not 100% on the clutch (v high biting point) and 1st and 2nd can be awkward to get, think they are related to the clutch. £2200, but, they have offered £1000 in part ex for their old car with knackered UJs on the propshafts, and a slight blow on the exhaust.
  20. Nice work dude! Might have to pop over and take a look! How's the VR?
  21. ???? Use the suppliers forum, apparently.... ;)
