  1. Got them from the Bently manual, I've got a copy on CD, however Goldie isselling a hard copy of the book for a very reasonable price. It's the american corrado service manual, so only covers the g60 and vr6
  2. And you don't have to worry about supercharger services, or have the (somewhat unfounded) worry of chains and tensioners. ;)
  3. You will need mk4 adapter pipes from goodridge, contact c & r enterprises to buy a set. £50 is a good price...
  4. A bold and provocative statement. They are underrated really. Can't wait to have mine back on the road again, the vr is nice for cruising around, but th valver is more fun.
  5. Would be an excuse to pop round to shire of cambs.... I did have one but can't find it, think i remember where it went though. Goldie It looks odd without it now, with only a standard towbar. Didn't want to come off though, I had to abuse the 3/4drive set and ended up twisting the 24mm bolt off!
  6. I've got a nearly new one of these, only year old. Cost £26 form the stealers....£15 inc P&P? Oooh, I'll have it. Can I collect??
  7. Bit dependant on getting a new job, but it will have to be soon as the vr isn't far off 3000 of it's 10k mile policy, and it's been about 2 months :( Got the throttle body on and the pipework to it, might need to change the elbow onto it, and the elbow on the metering head as they are pretty wanky. Need to do the seals in the clutch slave cylinder, the rear top mounts, put the battery back on, try to work out what the random over heating was the other day, get it moted and taxed. Really looking forward to driving it again actually. Been missing it quite a lot. Took the bike carrier off the vr yesterday, and might clean it a bit today, need to flush the coolant, clean and condition the leather, put new rear shocks on, and fiddle with the gearbox. Quite a lot to do really...

    Tyre stretches

ppl ask some funny questions,,, surely the same thing would happen on a normal wheel without a stretched tyre..... Normal tyres tend to stay seated when you drive them flat, I can't see stretched tyres doing the same, the bead would have to give pretty quickly. I would imagine that the tyre would probably be more likely to fall back into the well and leave your shiney rim sat on the tarmac. You're going to be more at risk of punctures as the rims aren't making as good contact with the rim as a correctly fitting tyre does, and the sidewalls are exposed to anything on the road.
  9. Some might say that dubs aren't well made cars.... I used to see this all the time driving tractors, different drivers would have huge brand loyalty for no good reason really. There was one guy I had the displeasure of following into a job who did his best to knacker the Massey he had so he would get a John Deere. In reality, all the brands produced comparable items, each had their own flaws, but the only difference to the drivers was actually how much free crap you got from the dealer. And to those who were at Ed38, yes this is another topic I have related to agriculture... :)
  10. Very lazily, I fitted my new throttle body and the inlet pipework to the 16v, removing all the oily residue as I went, and took the bike carrier extensions off the vr, snapping a 24mm bolt as I went, luckily, I had some spare bolts. And then made a post using the phrase "as I went" quite a lot...

    VR suspicious idle

Not a stuck/sticking throttle cable is it? That's a good call... Could be a sympton of it sitting up for a while.

    VR suspicious idle

Yeah, it doesn't like abs, but engine wise it's fine.

Do you want to drop in on your way past? I can at least fiddle with one car of yours this weekend?
  14. You can't fit big turbos or fiddle with the RX8's engine, it doesn't like them, it might be very reliable as standard, but has none of the tuning potential of the 7s
  15. Maybe a fueling problem? Think you'll be trying to hunt it down for a while though as it seems to be intermittant :(
  16. 8 or 16v engine? If it's a 16v, then it's probably an abf and may be too tall to fit in the corrado with the standard inlet manifold, but you could fit a turbo and use a short runner inlet, and it would clear nicely...
  17. Er.... I'm not sure I'm going to be able to make it if thats your idea of a conversion! I however, am now in..... See you in a coupel of hours Roberta....
  18. You're there as well?? We'll have to discuss arrangements.... :)
  19. Yes mate you are more then welcome! Good job i have got a big drive really! Best get some pictures of this... I've been to worse attended meets! lol Good luck with her!
  20. Agreed ive got three but ones a spare coz im greedy! Thirded! Some 16v and VR head bolts are buggers to get at and need a 3/8 drive to get at a couple ideally. Also many 1/2" sets don't go that low. TBH, I only really use torque wrenches on special things, like wheel bearings and head bolts etc...
  21. Whereabouts on the bay of e mate? I'd like some 80mm pipe, only an inch or so to make up an adaptor for a bmc, so I don't need to modify my existing maf pipe. Got a mate nearby who builds boats and hovercrafts and can (hopefully) weld a flange onto the pipe for me. I had a quick look, but the one place I found wanted £23 for a 30cm legnth, which I wasn't too keen on...
  22. Oh... I always wanted one of them to hang around in my house, and scare cats off. Panda style...
