  1. Yeah, just right for a saturday evening when the alternator goes and you've a couple of hundred miles to do on the sunday... I've got a complete H reg 16v in the shed for such emergencies.

Tolerance issues with the group buy ones, or with the trimsport beasts? Yours just clamps around the rear top mount doesn't it? I suppose this would fit any corrado irrespective of model? if you're looking to sell it, let me know... I could be interested.
  3. You might just want new big end bearings and the crank regrinding if you're lucky. How many of the 2.8 bits are transferrable? is it just the bore and pistons that are different? It never hurts to have something like that knocking about, £100 odd wouldn't be a bad investment. you could always sell it agian in a few years...

I was looking at the group buy on the braces, and noticed how cheap they were, so that kinda got me thinking. Only thing that puts me off is drilling the towers. Is your trimsport one bolted in? was it much work to fit? just drop the rear struts, drill and bolt on I suppose?
  5. hmmmm. I don't suppose the low oil pressure you are seeing now is due to damage that has been caused by running at low oil pressure recently? That would be a right sh!tter if it was... I wouldn't expect the hole to have been rounded out, especially if it snapped the pump drive shaft... Maybe the noise is the reminants of the shaft bouncing around? Either way, good luck, and I hope things work out... would be an incredible shame fi you had to do even more unplanned work on the old girl, after the work you put in.

I've tried a few ARB combinations on mine and I've settled on an Eibach 25mm rear and standard 20mm front. The front bar tends to upset the ride quality more than the rear one, which again is another reason to leave the front one in place. You do hear of tales of the back stepping out with thick rear bars, but in my experience it's only the strung out, poorly maintained cars (usually sporting shat tyres aswell) that lose it mid corner.....or if the driver is fool enough to let off the gas mid corner. Don't worry about that, it's not an issue. Yep, works well in combo with a good rear brace. Fit a front brace too to balance it all out and you should get a rigid, nicely poised car as a reward for your efforts ;-) What braces do you have Kev? When you say they make the car more rigid, do you think this is to the detriment of the cars ride comfort at all? I love the way my car handles, but if it could be better I'm up for finding out. I can't (and won't) lower it at all because of some of the places I go with the car, and am actually thinking about getting new standard springs shocks, and bushes right round, because I'm sure 180,000 miles and 15 years have taken thier toll on the suspension set up. I realise the car is never going to be super quick either, but I'm of the opinion that if it handles well enough I don't need the extra horse power to have fun.

it seems that there are 2 Neuspeed ones, a 25 and a 28mm one, which is better?

Where can you buy just a rear ARB and how much are they, thus far i've only noticed kits (front and rear). Is it much work to fit them? do you leave the original one in place? cheers
  9. With everything off, have you tried rocking the crankshaft back and forth to see if you can hear where the broken bit is/make it fall out? Maybe it would be worth reccomending other vr owners to change this part in future?

I've been thinking about this... Would it be worth fitting a rear ARB in conjunction with a rear strut brace? The only downside to uprating the ARBs is a reduction in ride quality on bumpy roads isn't it? Would a rear ARB lead to more oversteer occurances? Cheers.
  11. That wasn't the problem. His issue is (was?) that the sidelights wouldn't illuminate when he had the light switch in the first position. He had already disconnected the yellow wire so that the dipped beam lights did not illuminate when the light switch was in the sidelight/dim dip position.
  12. lol. I like this thread... Perhaps car modification should be made illegal until you pass a taste/aptitude test. Some of the sh!t that's floating around on the roads these days has got to be bloody dangerous.
  13. That's a quacking idea. That's a crap joke. :-P
  14. Even better, find the pike who did it and use thier hand/appendage wrapped in selotape to remove it, whilst kicking them in the nuts, repeatedly.... Buy a decent thick glove and wrap that with tape. the little shards of glass will poke through most things, and you don't want that....
  15. Great! Cheers David, that was the kind of info I was after... Hopefully I'll be able to play with the spare one for a bit. it seems that this won't be the first repair on the door as the motor is bolted rather than riveted in...
  16. Ok I've decided to get on and change the regulators over, but does anyone know what size rivets you need? The Bently says you need part number somethingysomething but as I've got plenty of pop rivets lying around I'd prefer to use them. I've not taken the old one out yet so I've not actually seen what they're like. but is the size **that** critical?
  17. My W"indow has stopped working altogether and is currently taped up. from prodding it and listening to it it sounds like the motor has chewed some teeth off or the control cable is knackered.... The bloody window falls down now! :( I can only assume I need a new regulator mech, and motor, would that be about right? Luckily I have a spare.... But I'm not keen on trying to fit it at the moment, has anyone done this? And does anyone have a timescale? I've looked at my bently and theres lots of rivet drilling action going on
  18. Sadly I didn't realise they were packing Mace :(
  19. Here's one of me.... I'm in the middle BTW :)
  20. Just take the passenger side wiper right off, so you can drive home.
  21. YEAH!!!!!!!! RRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
  22. Clean the arm and spindle up with a wire brush and bolt it back down tight. It should hold for the time being then... There's a group buy on the lupo wipers at the moment, might be worth contacting them and seeing if they'll do you a single arm?

    melted fuses

48.2mA? when off? that's not that much I suppose.
  24. I think i might have mentioned bleeding it.... Haha..... Really glad it's sorted, hate those problems where you can't see anything wrong...
