Something to do with the immobiliser fitted to the ECU. Check the fuse for it, No.15 or 16 I think.

I've got to scrap a shell I have at some point soon. I'm in Winchester, so not *that* far if you want to come up and do it yourself.

I think some of us have Audi TT/Mk4 GTi rear bushes. They are a direct replacement for the originals.

Jim, let me know when you want to do it. I've already had the engine in and out of your car and would be happy to do it again. Might want to think about a few bits and pieces like engine and gearbox mounts while you're at it. Spend a gentle weekend doing it and it shouldn't be too bad.

It's almost MOT time. My ABS is not working and I've no interest in spending money on replacing the pump, so I would like to change the ABS light for an LED timer circuit which gives the impression of the ABS light coming on and going out again so the MOT tester will pass the car. Has anyone built such a circuit? Has anyone bought one? Any advice? Cheers.

I'd suggest that the dust seal failed at some point and water got into the bearings causing the axle to corrode. I think you should check that the new races fit snugly on the axle and there is no excessive play.

Good morning. I would like to purchase a drivers door handle. Early smooth type, no raised ring around the lock barrel. I don't need the lock barrel or keys etc, just a working handle with the central locking wires in one piece. Thanks.

And we're forgetting to mention that larger brakes allow a bit more modulation of braking effort, thereby helping to prevent the wheels from locking up. And how easy is it to lock the wheels up when travelling at 100mph? I couldn't be bothered to read the long posts.
