Cheers for the replies, would this stop the car turning over if it is headgasket because of the low comp in the block? No coolant loss or mayo, so head will come off and i'll have a good look round. Just seems wierd that the car just worked one day and not the next so if it is a HG failure it must be a big one! Ta AJ

Right, think my engine is properly buggered but going to see what people think it may be before i take it apart. Well had it serviced on the friday and everything seemed well, drove it home the 2 hours it took and just before i got home it chucked out a load of white smoke, still drove fine. Drove it the next day with no problems. Monday morning i got up for work, tried the car and it tried to start but wouldn't catch, ruled out alot of things before doing the copmression test, Compression test results 1 60 PSI 2 170 PSI 3 175 PSI 4 80 PSI 5 120 PSI 6 150 PSI So your thoughts? Not sure what to do with my VR engine but might head down the rebuild route, which company does them, DG, Stealth? What kind of prices are you lookng at for a full rebuild on the engine? Thanks Adam

Well did the old compression test today and well....the thing is properly knackered, 3 are fine, 1 is a bit low and the other 2 are hardly doing anything at all! Cant remember whick cylinder did what though, Well should get my other Corrado soon when i can get over to pick it up then the search will be on for just another 2.9 block/full engine if anybody knows anyone with a decent history'd one for sale? Also just purchased some RH ZW1's for when things are sorted then hopefully be back on the road for more than a few months this time! I'll bang some pics up of the new motor when she arrives AJ

Well think the motor has died a horrible death so on the hunt for a new engine and loom! But wont be going in this car, found another VR with no engine that might be on the cards, saves spending money on this, will be swapping most/nearly all parts over to the new car if a deal is sorted, cant wait! AJ

Tried the relays but still nothing, really tries to catch but just wont! Quite fustrating now, so whats next on the list of things? Is it worth Vagcom'ing it again? Thanks AJ

Right i've been through the search and tried a few things but to no avail. Car had a service last friday and was Vagcom'd and all was good, couple days later i jumped in it and the car just wont 'catch', tries to but nothing. I unplugged the yellow sensor then the blue and also the lambda trying inbetween each but same results. Fuel pump fuse is fine so dont know where to go from here? Get it on Vagcom again? Crank sensor? Thanks Adam

Yeah its sitting bang on, going to have another look now, defo from a VR Corrado. Was wondering if the maf or plastic elbow was from a Golf. I'll get some pics up too AJ
