I'm seriously thinking about going all standard shocks and springs. And from there I might cut the springs a small amount. Will access that decision when I have the springs in front of me. Tried about 6 or 7 different combinations of suspension over the years. Although driving other cars makes me realise the corrado isn't so bad. Just a bit too bumpy and stiff. I think the roads round here have gotten so crappy that no car feels how I would like.

Have used this place for some subframe type parts and was very impressed, he also does wheels etc, i have two wheels i keep meaning to drop off with him http://ctc-powder-coating.co.uk/

Just seems really vague and seems to wander over the road alot. Steering sometimes heavy sometimes light. Really bad on changing cambers especially when over taking someone. Just bad really. Maybe to stiff still.

I thought sachs was the same stuff you get from the dealer. Or is that what you mean? Going to put everything back to standard and then see if this weird steering is suspension too firm or something else. Think dealers wanted something like £68 a spring

I think that was the ones for sale on here, Just wondering about new ones now.

Trying to find some sachs rear springs and am sure i've heard corrado rear suspension is passat based, whenever i buy springs they always seem to be golf Vr6 ones. Will any of these fit? All seem to have different sachs part numbers and different prices? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sachs-24652050-Rear-Coil-Spring-VW-PASSAT-2-8-VR6-2-0-88-96-/350915778593?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51b435d821 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sachs-24652150-Rear-Coil-Spring-VW-GOLF-2-8-VR6-2-0-GTI-16V-2-0-91-97-/231085966738?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35cdcc0592 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sachs-24652250-Rear-Coil-Spring-VW-GOLF-2-8-VR6-2-0-GTI-16V-2-0-1-8-1-6-91-97-/350915782632?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51b435e7e8

Thanks, some good info there, its done about 55,000miles, was my dads car previously that they owned from nearly new. He has mentioned it being a bit jumpy/misfire occasionally and the garage told him to not use supermarket fuel and gave him some diesel engine cleaner stuff to put in the engine but he didn't use it.

Just got a 2005 Audi A3 TDI, its a 2.0 140ps version. Haven't driven it yet, its just sat at home. Anyone on here got one, Am sure i've noticed them on here, should i just leave it as is? or can it be improved with a few simple mods. Obviously i have looked at remaps, but don't want to have any problems with this car. Its already had the clutch and flywheel changed, i don't even know cambelts intervals yet or servicing.

I can get my zip open, but can't pull the triangle out, seems stuck in there

I am going to chop some sachs springs. Been watching chop shop and the springs are cheap.

Halfords one cold cranking amps are a bit low. Think mine is 700a. I'd get the bosch. That's what I was about to buy but ended up getting convinced to go to some mates mates place and not been totally happy with it. Still plan to get a bosch or varta

Got some rear koni on-car adjustable shocks for sale, pretty much brand new, had them on for about 300miles max. Have kept the front ones on car for now.
-
I plastic welded mine on with a fag lighter and a screwdriver.
-
Always debate this in my head with mine, but end up keeping it.
-
Keep meaning to change mine for a new one.
-
Am sure you can get to it without removing the front.

I remember when the ebay link to the gasket 1st got posted and everyone bought 2 or 3 of them, i can't remember why but i had a moan at the bloke, maybe mine got lost or didn't turn up, literally later on that day he turned up at my house with two of them and started going on about how everyone bought more than they needed  I check addresses now before typing a snotty email..

You can get tools that work "on car" I think mine would do, You can buy cheap kits and expensive kits, i spent about £100 on my kit and works well every time. Not sure you could use the bit on car again, might be too short to reach the correct mounting point. They just clamp onto the pipe and you wind a shaped head into it, which compresses the end of pipe into a shape, Always remember to stick the union on before you flare the pipe, i kept making that mistake...

a guy used to sell them on ebay

My rear ends seems to of dropped a massive amount, no way is it 30-40mm as the springs state. I swear its the low rear end causing me handling issues.

Good price that! -
Someone over took me last night (silly overtake on a dodgy bit of road), was a brand new jag estate with twin pipes so must of been special. Once we got to decent roads i kept up with it, and obviously annoyed them as they kept slowing right down then flooring it off again, and the corrado stayed right there, i gave up in the end as their braking became dangerous. I was quite chuffed, considering the car isn't 100% as the moment. Also had similar with two different golf GTDs recently, corrado upset them as well i reckon.
-
Whereabouts are you, i have a nice brake pipe tool and some spare pipe.
-
I was about to have standard rear suspension and lowered front, but looks much higher than i remember, still think i'll try it anyway. What condition was your standard stuff in?, am after some standard rear springs if you have them to sell.
-
Argh, i'm considering going back to standard suspension, until i see the pics.
