  1. Good excuse for those with early cars to do a wide track conversion really  Is the difference actually that noticeable? Any one had an early car with late wings?
  2. Does it work from passenger side? I can't remember if you can swap the switches over on a corrado but that can be a good way to diagnose a fault. Also worth pulling the fuse out and seeing if it needs a clean. Could be a dodgy bit of wiring in the door hinge area. Wiggling wires while trying the switch can show up bad connections. Even just unplugging connections and reconnecting them can solve s problem.
  3. Nice one. Think it was one of your posts I was reading. Do I order those bits straight from the vw dealers? Will probably buy them anyway. Is bound to need doing one day.
  4. Was looking around my engine bay and noticed coolant leaking again, i seem to have so many problems with coolant leaks. Have blanked off the coolant route to the throttle body and run the thin hose that branches off the rad top hose, straight into the header tank, which works fine. Was thinking could i delete the aux coolant pump and use some lengths of hose to join the system up. That aux hose/pump has been nothing but hassle. Am having a new engine built and plan to use that waterless coolant if that makes any difference.
  5. going to bled it before i fit new one, just to see.
  6. Couldn't see any sign of damaged to the hose, also couldn't see any leaks but only had a quick look (noticed a coolant leak while i was there so thats gone on my list) Just ordered a new slave cylinder as my original has covered about 220,000miles. Master cylinder doesn't seem as expensive as i thought, been reading a few posts on here and seems there is a bit of confusion with ordering the master cylinder and also a few new parts to order with it, including a pedal?
  7. Are the straw front wings approved by Thatch'em?
  8. Thought i spotted one on the news, only caught a glimpse but it was some flooded street and what looked like a corrado parked by the kerb outside some houses
  9. same here, no rust is my biggest attraction. Is it easier to repair the carbon or fibreglass wings if damage was to occur?
  10. Am sure i've heard people refer to an exciter wire on the corrado alternator.
  11. Koni Sport On-car Adjustable Rear Shocks, VR6 Bought a complete set of these a while back from Stealth racing and only had the rears fitted for about 200-300miles, so they are in almost brand new condition and in original box etc They are the on car adjustable type and come complete with all fittings and instructions. Would prefer collection from CM6 2LX or i can arrange a courier at your cost, probably around 20. 12. Only just noticed they are 4 stud so no good for me.
  13. I have some nice winter wheels and tyres that I'd swap/come to a deal if you wanted to sell. They are the mk3 golf vr bbs wheels.
  14. If you have a long tap you can slide the filter over it and wash from the inside out. I use my bath tap and give it a good blast. Could soak it overnight.
  15. Not sure if I already asked about this. Symptoms are: Bite point really low. Impossible for it to be any lower Hard to get in gear. Grinds and then jumps in. Almost like the clutch isn't working. It was doing this and I changed clutch and gearbox. But all were used items. Stopped doing it for a short while and then came back. Was thinking of trying a new slave cylinder first. Am just hoping its nothing to do with the master cylinder etc
  16. Did you wear a paper hat and tell a terrible joke whilst fitting the switch?
  17. Took my spare pump to bits. Quite a bit going on inside. Am not too sure it will go back together again now. How much is a new vw one?
  18. I will have a funky break in the office tomorrow. Can't listen now but looking forward to it.
  19. I just use the double sided foam strips that they sell for numberplates, can get it at quite a few petrol stations etc Just cut it into bits, stick it on the badge and then trim around the letters with a sharp knife.
