Your meant to renew them each time I thought. I bought quite a cheap set of the replacement bands and the tool. Just looks like some pliers with a different head. Have done my driveshafts. Steering rack. Pas pipes etc with them and they work well. Can't remember the brand.

Pic of mine i took to help me get it back together. NOt sure if it helps, but worked for me

I remember mine being the same. Think I did Jack under neath it enough to get the bolts to bite. -
Could sell them as well  Cash back!

Not a big fan really, not worth the hassle and extra money. I still think speedlines are fine, about the only thing i've never changed on mine. Cheaper tyres too!
-
Can't say i know what you mean and have done my brakes a few times now, have you got a diagram or pic?
-
Only just realised the Nothelle wheels are made up of 3 letter n's Noob

Sometimes i think i would prefer it standard and just spray it silver Unless your cleaning it all the time it ends up like this

You need to sand all the texture off it, i know some people have used a belt sander, i did mine by hand, took ages. I started with 40grit You want to end up using 1200-2000wet n dry, then start polishing

Yay. I made it my goal to get the corrado to 200k. Hit 220k yesterday. If I get to 230k then I will of done 100k since getting the car.

Pics might be in wrong order, just tried to link them all again, in a rush

I was told the calipers should come off a 1995 onwards golf or the highline version is a safe bet, deffo had 288's. I used the cheapy brembo discs and just some normal pads, i did have a thread somewhere but think the photos got moved.

"communication difficulties" On the tv? a form of communication. That's like having a navigator with seeing difficulties :(

Am sure it runs clockwise. All i've done in the past when refitting my pump is mount it in place, connect it up but leave the top bolt/pipe off and fill it up with a syringe, Spin it by hand a few times and reconnect the pipe. Start the engine and it did make a noise, moved steering about. Sometimes the noise is still there but after turning car on and off and having a quick drive it disappeared.

I'll have them, only really need the springs, maybe we could do a deal for just the springs posted?
-
I had to turn the sound off. Was sending me over the edge. Very annoying. Shoot that lady.

Can get some 288 caliper for about £50 a pair these day, then worth stripping them and rebuilding, its only a couple of seals.
-
Are you sure you haven't forgotten you filled up somewhere inbetween?
-
Anyone remember that mad astra a company built? and it caught fire and ended up being an insurance job as they had a ridiculous estimate of its value? Some sort of coachworks company iirc
-
The best thing i think i did to mine was upgrading the fronts to 288 discs and calipers and the rears to mk4 calipers, its about the only part of the car i've changed and never had a problem with since.

I have this noise too, have recently used the BMW 10/60 oil and no difference. Something i did notice at the weekend when working on the car with inlet manifold off, was where the noise is coming from, rear of engine and on the aux belt side. Looking into the head through the inlet holes i could see oil running down the valve that is left most. All the others were clean. not sure if its related. What is the talc powder method?

I have two spare at home, am just in the process of rebuilding one, Its not too hard. Worth noting there is a copper bush which sits in the gearbox and the starter motor spindle goes into it, this can wear out leading to funny noises, happened to mine.
-
Nah, its still not turned up, cleaned the garage and swept up and still not found it. Engine works so isn't inside there. I reckon its sat on top of the fuel rail or somewhere like that.
-
That's a massive amount of miles from a tank. I usually get about 320.

just finished. Got to fill fluids and test gear box. If it's ok am going to put new oil in it. Bought the oil to go in last gearbox but never got round to it.
