  1. Two different garages have said it's the rear that's too firm. The latest place I found the chap there seemed interested and seemed to know a lot about handling. More so than the local place.
  2. Found the car quite stiff and unpredictable. Changed to the koni sport adjustable shocks and the H&R springs. Car is a little bit softer. Quite a lot higher but still not right and has sort of proved my problem isn't down to the suspension. Rear end is still quite firm so trying some new standard shocks which I'll fit this weekend. If still bad I'll be removing the power flex bushes on the rear and trying standards. Then I'll just blame the roads and buy a £1500 land rover discovery and leave corrado in someone's barn.
  3. Fitted the isv back on and did ecu reset but not the vagcon bit. Been for a drive and still got a high idle about 900rpm when warm. Will see in the morning what a cold start does. Will vagcom show up a dodgy throttle position sensor.
  4. Just got it off and cleaned it. Not put it back on yet though notice I get quite a bit of oil in the Inlet elbow where it meets throttle body. Is that normal? Had really bad misfires on the way home. Almost like coil pack issue again. Cleared up by the time I got home but notice the exhaust popping and banging alot more and idle is high but steady once warm. wondering if I have a few issues here.
  5. Have got an ultra sonic cleaner, might run it through that, also quite certain i have a spare isv somewhere
  6. Quite often i've put bits of the car back together and questioned gaps, especially the front end and some of the lower dash bits.
  7. Was about 2009/2010 that i bought them, but car was off road for 18months of that and they sat indoors. I would say about 20,000-30,000 miles on them.
  8. Had a search and the ISV kept coming up, i've never cleaned or done anything with that so will try it.
  9. Recently changed to koni/HR/Sachs setup, looking to sell the KW's Good condition, nothing seized, springs have a bit of paint flaking off and one of the dust covers on the bump stop is slightly cracked (see last pic) Includes the C-spanner and original instructions etc. Would prefer collection from CM6 2LX, but could arrange a courier at your cost. £300ono
  10. Do i need vagcom to do that, 2nd part sounds a bit vagcommy to me. I did buy the vcds lite thing and an ebay lead but never really got it working properly.
  11. Been going on a while now, got a bit worst this morning. For a while when out driving i stop at a junction and the idle feels a little low, also notice a pop from exhaust if i give it a blip, (Which i never used to get) Got home last night after driving for over an hour and the idle was high, like when you first start the car in the morning, sat for a while and it didn't change so just switched it off (thinking at the time, i bet it mucks about in the morning) This morning it wouldn't idle, revs would just drop and engine would stall. Sorted it by holding the revs at about 2000rpm for a few minutes, got to work, but the drive in seemed a little rough at times. As the cars done 220,000miles am thinking some of the auxiliary bits might need cleaning etc. Is there much i do?
  12. On a previous car i had a loose tensioner on the belt, whoever did the cambelt didn't tighten it properly, car felt really bad to drive, quite lucky i didn't bugger it really as i just assumed revving it higher would sort things out.
  13. You mean they look totally **** OMG, how could someone just live with that?
  14. Hope not, i've got a collection of headlight and fog lights lenses and hope they will fund my retirement in years to come

    headlight refurb

It was just a guy selling one that he hadn't used. not a supplier. I have heard sonar/solar whatever the aftermarket lights sell them as spares for their units, keep meaning to find out if they fit a standard headlight.

    headlight refurb

yes, you can fit new ones, not sure where they come from through, i found mine on ebay.
  17. I plan to dig up the council offices car park one day
  18. Wouldn't be surprised if one of mine is like that after the hole I hit last night.
  19. Sachs advantage shocks have arrived. Only got a couple of rears. Will see what difference it makes. Noticed these shocks expand on their own. Whereas others don't. Koni kw etc. Is that the difference between gas and oil? All the front units I've had return after you compress them.
  20. Does a 92 vr6 have a catalytic convertor?
  21. Not clicked the link yet. Is it the one that goes up the goodwood hill most years?
  22. Worth checking local car parks and any under ground parking etc. Some people will leave them for a bit after stealing. Then come back to it.
  23. Whoops, missed a letter there  VW do sell a squeezy tub of it, don't think its that expensive, not sure what is special about it if anything.
