Got the dremel out and sorted the splines out myself, Goes on lovely now, just a few gentle taps and it comes on and off like the other side does. What a palarva this has been. Found this dremel bit was a perfect fit Ran it up and down every spline a few times Fixed

Its doing my head in now. Just got the old cv and old hub (no bearing) and tried fitting them back together and i had to really smack the crap out of it with a big hammer to get it in and it still didn't go all the way in. Can only try fitting the new stuff and tightening it all up with the hub nut and hope that pulls it through, but i went mental with the hammer and can't see my with a socket creating enough force.

Well been to two indepedant garages and also spoke to VW headquarters about it. Seems no one really knows why its like this and why the other side isn't. Also found out the old hub that i struggled to get off is the same inside and thats the original 17yr old one. It has the flat splines part way in and now it all makes sense why my front wheel used to get stuck on hub, which started after a wheel bearing change, looks like its been hit with a hammer, so this problem has obviously happened in the past. All i can do now is locate it the little bit it goes on then try and pull it through with hubnut. Stopped caring about it being easy to get off, i'll worry about that in the future. Will be interesting to see if this ever crops up in the future on here? I hope someone else has the same problem, not me being mean, but i feel unlucky and baffled.

Tried hammering it on, and its pushed the hub out the bearing a little bit, so now hub is wobbly. Back to vw again tomorrow. Really confused with this, looked at the old original one and quite sure I can see similar marks. Wonder if they press them together then seperate them to fit bearings? I went to remove it from the metal arm on pedal and the arm just bent really easy, got worried so bent it back, looks about right to me

Do you reckon it will come premixed with the fag butts, twigs and leaves? or do you have to add them yourself?

How do you know when it's time to sell the Corrado?

I'm 30yrs old now and never been to a car meet  You can't all get bored of them just as i'm finally getting ready to attend one :( -
I have the little rubber bush out the hole and it looks great still, not even dry and wrinkly which is suprising. I wonder if my pedal has been changed? Anyone got a photo of a late pedal and the bit that pull the cable. Would rather the newer style as its usually revised for a reason, and i notice the late cable has a spring in it for something

I just did a google aboot the place and now i'm thinking of getting a powder one and a foam one. Seems the powder is good for putting the fire out and the foam good for stopping it re-igniting. Just been looking around the office and quite suprised how small the 6kg powder one is, might get 2no 2kgs ones

Anyone got a decent condition standard VR6 sump? Not keen on the 24v baffled one so going back to original, mine is a bit battered.

Yes, it seems everything is going wrong now with my corrado project. :( Went to order a throttle cable, VW needed my chassis number, went home and got it, ordered the cable. Came to fit it a few months later and its the wrong type. ^^^One on the right is from my car. Went back to VW and he said i ordered the late cable which should fit, but it seems my car uses the early type? But apparantely the early type of cable is now obselete :( Will just order a copy part, but curious why my car appears to use the early style. Could i just swap the pedal and metal arm instead?

Kip. Not sure if you bought new hubs for your VR? Could you have a nosey in this thread for me? Your about the only person i know that has all new bits http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?76041-Quick-advice-on-dodgy-wheelhub

Ferrari f430 replica body kit group buy? Final Numbers!
Jim Bowen replied to EJ Taylor's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Can it be fitted backwards? I have always wanted the front of my car to look like the back of a ferrari and vice versa. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2 -
When I went back they had got another one there, bnib and was exactly the same. My old ones aren't like it, but the workshop guy reckons they come like that. Can see me hammering the old cv in with everything off the car, and it getting stuck in there. So confused about it all, but can only try what vw said to do. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2

Getting hammer out tomorrow. Feel a bit bad I thought it was the garage I use. But I never bought a new hub before. Going to have to pop in and apologize now. Haha. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2

Saw a pic of a guy who had fitted a 12v sump to a 24v golf and it looked like the golf had bits that fill those holes. ---------- Post added at 4:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 4:09 PM ----------
