  1. Will try that tomorrow, thanks :) I have got enough thread to get the nut on, will get the brake disc on and see how it looks.
  2. Struggled to get them off and had to buy new hub and new cv joint, now i'm struggling to get them back together, have got spline half way in, just pushed on, but won't go the other half on. Afraid to go hitting it with a hammer incase it damages the new bits. Any tricks to do this? Should be simple by all accounts, just pull off and push on? Would it be safe to have spline halfway in, i can get hub nut on the end, then lower car and tighten hub nut to pull the cv joint through? or is that dodgy?
  3. am sure you can alter the door locks to work with whatever key you have, i.e: setting up door to match your ignition. think its called retumbling ---------- Post added at 2:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:47 PM ---------- is this any help? http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44487-How-to-make-1-key-open-all-4-locks-cheap!&highlight=retumble

  9. Anyone know what happened to him and his red corrado? Not noticed him for a while now and can't remember if he left corrado ownership or changed username etc? Just wondering really, no urgent reason.
  10. I feared it would be a slow job :( Looking at it now i could of removed the hoses from car and attached them to the rack, then lifted rack, subframe and the hoses in at once, I'd already undo the other ends anyway. Oh well.
  11. Nah, its all still on the car, will give it a go and see how i get on. thanks read a guide on VW vortex that says to put something through a spare hole so the pulley can't turn
  12. Whats it worth in parts?, although a pain to go through all that, it might be the best way to recoup some money. I'm not a fan of the golfs so me personnally wouldn't repair it, a corrado i would and have. If you put money and time into it and get it all sorted how long with you be happy with a mk3 golf for? I wouldn't get too bogged down worrying about how you have spent your money, its spent now and thats what its for, am sure its not the end of the world just a bit of bad luck. You will get over it. I was quite suprised you gave up on the corrado so quickly and bought an old golf instead.
  13. Nice one. My next issue is i can't get a spanner in to tighten up the hoses on steering rack now, have put everything back together and can only just get my fingers in there.
  14. Had all mine apart recently, and followed the cable back to the flaps and imo its the flap that caused mine to stiffen up. Mine had some foam on the edge of flap, i guess to make a more airtight seal, but this has fallen apart and hardly any left, just a stick crumbly mass of old foam. My dials turn freely once removed, the but the cable is still hard to operate by hand, i don't see any issue with my cable as it in dry place and none of the others have a problem. Its the large flap on left hand side of the bit in centre of dash, where that joins to the fan ducting on passenger side. Don't go forcing something if it doesn't turn easily, it will only break
  15. How do i undo the water pump without the pulley spinning around. Bentley manual mentions a VAG tool for it, is there a DIY way?
  16. I would be happy to buy yours if you would be kind enough to do that. Should be able to get car on its wheels for next weekend then. Thanks. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  17. I am after the plug that goes on to the rad temp sensor, if you fancy chopping it off with a few inches of wire so I can join it to my loom. Also need some tailgate lifters. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  18. Had you recently been married? Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  19. Nice one, thanks for that. Will try order them on Monday, I should of thought about these ages ago as its put a halt on things now. Also noticed the lead that comes out the block and back to the bottom end is split. What it is for? Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2

  21. I don't know the numbers yet, not looked it up
  22. Could be the guard that covers up the cat, i took mine off and never had an issue since
  23. Been needing this for a while now, Its the plug that goes onto the rad temp sensor. From a 1995 VR6, i think the pins inside are slightly different. Anyone breaking a car they could cut it off of?
  24. Pretty easy really, i did watch my mate did it and was telling him what to do (once he got stuck in he wouldn't stop), i reckon i could of done it. The hardest part was getting the gearbox off. Really awkward. Still got the deep cut in my hand
  25. I could only find the whole hose kit on the website, do i need to ring them up on monday and ask for Vr6 oil cooler hoses?
