  1. Slung them on the car Cleaned up engine some more and stripped **** off ready to do timing chains, hopefully this weekend
  2. i actually have one in the garage, i bought both because didn't know which i needed and since found out i have a metal one. Do you know the part number of what you need?
  3. Just reading again, are you having a block and beam floor, is that what the inspector wants. How do you know what the other houses have and when were they built. Building inspector should know best really, but you can sometimes prove other theories or settle it with a drawing/detail. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  4. Got the info at work for building near trees documents. But am off work this week. Usually gives a depth for footings, but as far as the floor type, its sounds as if its to allow for ground heave. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  5. Just picked up my hubs, had to get a garage to press the bearings in for me. Can put them on now and complete some of the suspension/steeering :! Just the brakes then i can put wheels back on. Although might leave one side as gearbox is coming off to do timing chains
  6. Damn i must of missed this, my splitter had a sort of dent in it, wouldn't mind one of these while i have car in bits
  7. Just up the road from me, same place that made that blue hayabusha mk1 Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  8. Samurai sword. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  9. yeah i think its just the three screws and the fan comes out, the standard one just twists in with no screws. There a couple of plugs/wires to unplug
  10. Its not that hard really, just putting in the hours and remembering where everything goes. I would take it apart again if i need to, i seem to have a lot of patience and time. Mainly hoping to stop any rust and sort out my steering (which i think i have fixed now), Its not going to be a concourse show car, i plan to use it through the winter etc
  11. Its finally all out and ready for sale, all the standard bits are now fitted too.
  12. Cheers, going to use a smidge of sealant i think.. put my shocks back in Took the hubs to garage to have new wheel bearings pressed in, then i can fit them and maybe get car on its wheels again. Stripping bits from here to get ready for timing chains
  13. Didnt get all the pics on my phone first time round. Does look like.one. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2

  17. Got the front cross member and rad support off and dropped them at the powder coaters to be plascoated, will get pics when i get them back. Did the inner wing bits that aren't covered in the VW stonechip stuff, painted them with POR15 Then decided to use the black Schutz stuff to go over that and also over the original stone chip in arches, Should stop any moisture and future rust. How car is at the moment In other news, i got the subframe back on and connected the steering up. Fitted the new Outer CV joint More stuff waiting to go on Another question (if anyone actually reads here  ) ^^^For the sump do i need the gasket and sealant or just the gasket?
  18. My name isn't Chris btw. Lol. I am Jim. Not sure, am getting crossmember and rad support done. He had some nice examples of wheels but they were powder coat. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  19. Just went to a powder coaters in maldon and dropped some bits off, the chap recommended plascoat and from the tests he showed me it looks very tough. Anyone used plascoat before. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  20. i really don't remember this thread and problem
  21. I can't remember why but do remember it being said that its normal on UK cars
  22. i wouldn't know. I have got my old one, tried to remake the seal using some foam stuff i had. Then the new one came up for sale. Will get you a pic if it might be handy to you. Tbh you could just make a seal, i could draw you a template in CAD
  23. Just done mine. I did: -Steering rack boots and clips -Steering rack bush (don't know the part number, i had a spare powder coated bracket so put that on, but original could be reused, or i have a spare one) -I reused the bolts and nuts for rack as they were so oily they hadn't corroded -Subframe Bolts: N102 575 01 = M10x24, 2no. required N102 096 05 = M12x1, 5x65, 2no. required The other bolt for subframe is also the rear wishbone bolt N102 078 04, 2no required (not sure why its slightly different to your number) -Front wishbone bolts: N904 840 04, 2no required -ARB Droplink bolts (on end of ARB, mine snapped on removal): N019 504 3, M8x45, 2no required: N902 264 04, M8, 2no required -ARB Bushes (inboard on top of subframe): 191 411 314, 2no required Also did my rear engine and gearbox mount while i was there, used JayRenshaw rear mount kit and a VW gearbox mount: 3A0 199 402 I reused the ARB bush bolts and brackets, soaked them in rust remover and repainted them. I also used the chance to set the steering rack and track rods to factory lengths (as per the posts on forum somewhere) I probably forgotten something. Some pics. Can see the new bolts in the holes here, its also a good time to redo the underseal that you can't get to with subframe on. Subframe built up but missing engine mount ARB bushes
  24. Am sure its all one thing, I got a new one waiting to be fitted after I sorted the rust out. Got mine from the pat mcrotch group buy and got a feeling they went obselete or a heritage part. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
