  1. my car seems to be falling to bits at the moment
  2. Can't access the wiki at the moment, i was going to put this in Kevs thread but its locked.... My heater controls have always been fine, had the speed on 4 and went to adjust the direction and ever since the direction control is stiff. I've not broken anything yet, as i saw this was a common problem. Have taken some of dash out and pulled heater controls forward and left with this...... Now i've pulled it out it all seems to move quite smoothly, Should i do anything? Kev recommends getting rid of the bit of metal that drops into the notches on the cog wheel?
  3. arghhhhhhh.... now i'm thinking i NEED these bits  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gruven-Billet-VR6 ... dZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gruven-Billet-All ... dZViewItem i've got nearly all the other parts, still not fitted the water pump bracket as i never knew where it went. I could do with getting a new aux water pump i reckon
  4. as above really. wash it as much as possible use a clay to prep the surface. i still think a couple of layers of autogylm super resin polish and then a decent wax does the job. Main tip would be take your time if doing it by hand and get lots of applicators and cloths, rather than lots of products
  5. at least there's no big hole in the side of your engine, i know people who have done that. could just be water on something electrical, have you tried damp start everywhere?
  6. whats the military looking vehicle in the background of last pic? hummer?
  7. no, haven't got VAGCOM, is it worth investing then? i always assumed they only work if something is wrong and a light is on, maybe that was just my old vauxhall.
  8. i see gruvenparts make a pulley, nearly £100, but thats not so bad if i don't have to buy the tensioner as well. I will investigate the noise then, i spose it could be any of those pulleys/bearing. Not sure whether to do it all myself, or ask stealth to change the water pump when i take it there to get geometry done
  9. is there any need to replace the tensioner itself or just the pulley?
  10. Porsche seats will look good. They won't affect resale too much. They fit an ass... Get projector lights and fit HID's... I wouldn't do the bonnet bra, just fit it to the car, you don't want your knob smelling weird... Get the FK badgeless grill.... Not sure about Schriks, but i've seen shrek at the cinema and that was worth it... BMC CDA... Not sure what you mean about the lights, but is it really worth it? Lots of answers... Your Welcome
  11. i have quite a few wire that look like that any not connected to anything, they all at the back of fusebook, some are blue
  12. i have a lot of noise from this area when i start my cold, i think the cold damp weather is making it worse. I was thinking of changing the tensioner and pulley and also the belt. Can i get the tensioner and pulley from Ford cheaper than VW? I take it its expensive from VW. Also i notice Gruvenparts make a pulley but thats nearly £100. anyone done this job?
  13. any videos of your car Kev? can't say i know much about it
  14. http://www.vxronline.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=38473
  15. perfection 8) very nice corrado indeed
  16. i'm going to investigate my car now as i can't work it out  i don't mind buying one, as i've had every other part of the cable break now and had to smash up a grill last time, and it was the one i've superglued my VR6 badge to :brickwall:
  17. Can anyone help me with this?[/quote:yne6rdpo] not sure about that, i think as long as they return its ok, as when i bought new shocks they hard the strong plastic tape compressing the shock rod down so it fitted in a smaller box
  18. i think thats kind of true in way, as i've got mine set pretty high and most of the spring is compressed, whereas if i lowered the car more, the spring would be more unwound, if that makes sense they seem to work backwards to a lowering spring kit
  19. how is it now? what kind of issues are worrying?
  20. mine is on 172,000miles and not had it done. I know people do it as a precaution, but its a very expensive precaution. I'd rather save the money towards a total rebuild or R32 conversion if it came to that
  21. with a few tweeks it could look really good imo, for a bodykitted corrado anyway........
  22. excellent, couldn't be much clearer pics than that. so i have to make sure mine isn't pushed in?
