  1. it seems to do it, in and out of gear, or with clutch down.
  2. mine is making a noise, keep meaning to get under car and have a look, am sure i bottomed out on some grassy bank earlier and the cat shield was to blame
  3. car is a VR6, recentely at really low revs, i notice it when reversing up my drive which is a slight hill, so about 1000rpm. there is a whirring noise, hard to describe, could this be signs of bottom end or something, sounds like a worn bearing type noise to me, but in the engine. also the misfire seems worse recentely, when i rev car while stopped it feels rough/wobbly, like not all cylinders are firing, sounds nice but shouldn't be like that, thinking that could be coilpack? i can see quite alot of work needing doing soon :( clutch, engine rebuild, and a coilpack with leads doesn't look cheap :( half tempted to sell it on at a reasonable price tbh
  4. am sure i've heard people say on here that you can just cut it off, but watch out if you park on long dry grass as it can burn from the heat
  5. i can't moan as i'm still 1st, but i still not doing too well in the grand scheme of things
  6. i found the gliptone smells like a doctors waiting room and its only seems to feel soft and non-slippy again for a week or two. have tried a few different things on mine and they pretty much the same as when i got the car, (if i don't kid myself) deffo worth giving it a good clean every so often to prevent damage and make it last longer, but hard to permantely change the way the leather feels and looks with just rubbing creams into it. just my opinion
  7. i have this thing in the loft called a "little green cleaning machine" or something like that, its amazing for cleaning carpets and seats, like a vax really. i dropped a JD & coke over a girlfriends dads brand new white carpet once and it rescued me 8)
  8. i like the sound of the brakes too, and also its tax-free apparantely, bet it costs a fortune to buy tho i would deffo go electric if i could afford something like that, the torque and response of the engine must be awesome
  9. here's mine, its the leather recaros, heated and electric movement, the logo isn't stitched in, its stamped into the leather i think my avatar shows the logo. I have the invoice somewhere and it was a £2500ish optional extra, thats the whole interior
  10. just watched that but missed the rado :( i did that not long ago, saw a speed camera and slammed brakes on  hope it wasn't me,
  11. well thats all normal prehaps it broke in the past and someone just changed the switch, i don't really know are you going to change the wiring? the whole clump unplugs each end, worth adding an extra inline fuse too
  12. awesome pics, i still think speedlines look cracking on a corrado 8)
  13. does the switch illuminate at all? thats what that wire does, earth supply to the light, i think... switch is about £55 from VW
  14. have a look at this site, http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Repair.htm i bought the recolouring balm, which is only for minor marks, maybe worth getting in touch with then and sending the pics
  15. happened to me not long ago, yep sounds like the switch has broken and shorted that wire out, probably taking out your dash light too do your headlights work?
  16. will be a lot of work to get rid of them imo, i've tried using various conditioners, colouring balms etc on very minor scratches on my interior and they don't acheive a massive difference
  17. how can a dream car be an 8v
  18. i bought one off ebay during the week, from Mr Gaiter, and i can't see it fitting, just been outside trying and it interferes too much with the action of the handbrake. who off here has fitted a leather gaiter, am sure i've seen them fitted, how do you do it? there is a thin slit where all the material has to go and its just not going to work
  19. i had the funny noise when turning at low speeds after fitting early plates with late mounts, steering didn't seem right to me, thats why i changed and it feels much better
  20. i have some early top mounts in my garage, but they aren't VW ones i don't think. i ended up buying different springs because i didn't like the look of the early stuff
  21. ive done it before, you have to drill the rivets out and rivet it back in, not sure if the motor comes off, i think it should do, i replaced the whole mech on mine as cable and fixings had broke
  22. My corrado has been missing at slow speeds, seems to be when you drop below 20mph in 2nd and try to accelerate again, the engine kinda skips a beat, almost like something slips. when its wet and i go through a big puddle i get the same thing but much worse, it misfires without even being in gear, i.e: just revving it. i notice that when its wet i get sparks coming out of the top of coilpack area, there is a lead that runs along top of coilpack and it seems to be around here i have to spray some wet start to get rid of damp. wheres the best place to get a coil pack, can i get one from a golf or a ford sharan etc? same for leads really, i guess VW will charge a fortune
  23. i've done it the past two years, tax ran out at end of june, i bought it online on sunday night and it arrived on tuesday. i think as long as you have paid its all provable if it ever gets that far.......
  24. yeah, go in and ask, they seem to sell every little bits, i've bought odd bolts and fixings, you feel ripped off though
  25. i knew using them for half a dozen times would end in something breaking, doesn't it always in a corrado  its just the rubber strap has snapped at the top, can you buy them seperately from VW, also are they corrado specific i notice modern cars seem to use string instead of rubber? is there a reason for this?
