Jim Bowen replied to Foxster's topic in Engine Bay
i am starting this at the weekend, exact same thing did you have to support the engine at all, i read somewhere about one bolt that holds bumper on also does something with the engine? -
i don't get it, are you after a decent corrado for yourself?, or do you just clean them up and sell them on?
-
or magnets
-
Magnetic strips? like fridge magnets, but you'd probably have to stick it to the bumper and to the numberplates, could you get plates made up like a fridge magnet? flexible plates

if its getting all over the underside of bonnet that would suggest it getting flung around. are the fan blades covered in coolant? i am having coolant issues at the moment too, car is tucked away in garage and the guys at local place spotted a hole in rad, which i hadn't noticed i've had the thermostat housing go, and it didn't spray all around the engine bay. can you look through the front of grill? i think a magical stone managed to find its way through mine and that what has pieced the rad, bloody good shot on the stones behalf tho  -
after this thread i bought a dremel, corded one in the end the results must of had these for months now, taken ages to clean them up...but they now ready  when i got them

i use golden syrup now after seeing the modern skodas now run this stuff, takes a while to pour in and you need alot of tins, but the smell after a quick blat is amazing. i do however get a lot of bees & wasps following me during the warmer months

i did the rods and after looking at the old ones off the car, there was nothing wrong with them, couldn't see how they could wear really, quite a solid chunk of metal

i can't find them but they have a big pot within arms reach so i guess they quite common and universal across the range. was about £2.50 each tho
