did you have a look at the set thats for sale dude? you think they are genuine recaros? they look to me as if they could be electric?? yeah they look pretty genuine to me.... :)

yeah the recaros have two tilt levers on each seat and the logo is stamped in, like my avatar >>>>>> not sure if they made other types though, just going by what i have also i've found the storm seats always seem more worn than recaros, is it a different leather?

this has probably been covered before, but i can't find the answers i want with the search :oops: After seeing that guy on tv rebuilding a Land rover V8, i fancy getting another engine and rebuilding it over time. Ready for when mine in car needs work, could just swap them over. i've never done anything like this before, but am a cabaple guy and seem to manage most things i try.......eventually :lol: my questions are: 1) would i need to buy a whole engine, could i just look out for the top half and start on that, learning as i go etc, then at some point get the rest to match? 2) what kinda bits would you upgrade? if pistons are fine etc should you just stick with standard everything? 3) how would you do it? find an old engine that is broken and repair it, or just buy a recon block and slowly amass all the other bits?

i noticed while taking rear of car apart that the parcel shelfs supports have a layer of leather or leather lookalike over them. is the dash also covered in this? or is it just plastic? i can tell that the gear surround and handbrake bits are just plastic

so jacking between the two points of where the subframe meets wishbone is ok? i been using the circle bits set a little way in from each side, on the floor basically, but where its shaped, then put axle stands on the square section of floor

can someone mark on this floor plan diagram the points where its safe to jack? also is there a place where you can just both wheels up at once? i.e: both front wheels, or both rear wheels i previously jacked it up on rear axle, but from reading the book it says not to do that. but doesn't really say anywhere that you can jack apart from the points where the crappy jack that comes with car goes.

VR6 because Richard hammond said "this is the one to get" :lol: really tho, i wanted the quickest/best one, didn't know much about corrados at the time and ended up looking for VR6 only, never checked out the others plus the rebuilding of supercharger put me off, VR6 seemed the more reliable option

mine gets through quite a lot, isn't very smokey tho and no massive leaks, but i've heard other owners comment about oil consumption, i just check mine every week and always make sure it never runs out.

have you got a list of everything you have done? sub frame & rear axle, did you just refurb them then? am thinking of getting a sandblasting gun in the new year, was going to do it all before xmas but will have to wait. am fed up with the crappy feeling i get driving the C nowadays

nice mate, great pics, this is exactly what i need to do. is that a new rack from VW? hard to fit? i also found that the brake thingy in pic 2 & 6 of you 1st batch seems buggered on mine, did you get that from VW too?

i took a motor off and it was quite easy from what i remember, i removed the whole mechanism 1st am sure it was just two bolts or allen keys things to undo

let handbrake off and put bricks or wood behind the wheels
