Luckily I removed and refitted all my trim when windscreen was done. Didn't want to let someone else do it
-
I've never opened my sunroof in the 8-9yrs i've had the car. I should really check it out as could be rusty underneath
-
Thanks, will give that a go tonight. I've managed to get that trim out the front edge, very tough but if you pull it hard enough it comes off.
-
Want to colour my headlining, i tried to remove it lastnight but i couldn't get the trim off that sits around the interior light and sunroof controls. I know i've had it off before but can't for the life of me remember how. I was pulling it pretty hard and got the back of it down, but the front edge was stuck solid. Any tips? also, what have people used to colour a roof lining? Am wanting either black or maybe a dark grey.

The manual does say to replace every time, i also reused mine and had a very slight blow. Not sure how much the victor reinz ones are but i've just fitted the whole block and head kit to my new engine build. Stealth got them in for me and said they are fine to use.

Mounting them was a pain, i first tried a double sided foam tape for numberplates, then heavy duty velcro tape, also tried a carpet tape, nothing seemed to stick, i begin to try and drill holes and use the screws supplied but figured out i wouldn't be able to put anything on the back of screw for it to tighten to. I ended up just putting a big blob of silicone on the back of the crossovers and basically glued it on.

I didn't try behind the door cards, thought about it but it made the wiring easier being behind the kick panels. Pulled the windscreen trim out last night and found the small bit of rust I treated when windscreen was out last year has come back and got a pea sized hole now. Am not sure if i should try and get another new screen and cut out and weld rust properly, or try and get at it from inside the car.

The photos remind me of my garage at the moment. nice Work. Re the oil cooler. Fitted mine recently and have a pic. Almost touches the filter housing.

Hi mate would you be willing to post it as I don't know any good couriers  I really hope they collected the axle today.

correct price to pay on a corrado vr6 engine? had some work to it!
Jim Bowen replied to paceo's topic in General Car Chat
I don't like the idea of using Febi parts, am sure they are fine and people will grill me for saying that, but recently done my chains and used all genuine parts and wasn't that expensive really, maybe £200 -
Just to update what i ended up doing. I got my original refurbished by this company http://www.pastparts.co.uk/ Was very impressed with the speed of the service and the part came back looking like new. and fitted Did cost £100 though, but new one was over £170

Kinda broke mine trying to fit it, i might get away with just buying the bulb and bulb holder part but can't find them online, not sure if they all differ slightly. Anyone got a spare they want to sell?
-
Finally mounted the crossovers, fitted in quite nicely in the end. Then started putting dash back in. Fixed steering column fitted and a DaveA quick shift

I have tried but no luck, I'm going to worry about it later now (once car is back on its wheels)

Excellent, Pm'd you my address, thanks very much. Has anyone got the sill trim clips?
-
Rather than go to VW and end up buying loads i don't need i wonder if anyone on here has these? I need 3 of these (they go under the plastic trim on interior sill And 3 of these (they go behind the rear door cards.

Can you go back with a grinder and cut some bits off it. i can't even find a scrapyard. Let alone a corrado.
-
No problem. That part sits on top of gearbox. Then you have two cables that connect to it and then run back to the gearstick in car. I have seen a rebuild kit. But its not any metal parts and I'm not sure if it's for the gearbox selector or the gearstick end. I bought it and still none the wiser!
-
Probably the selector tower on top of gearbox.
-
Check where the gearbox mount bolts to the gearbox, i've missed a bolt out of the three there, as its hard to get in if you fit things in the wrong order (have sorted mine now though)
-
Am sure your missing a nozzle there

There was something similar a few years back, for some reason i saved the images

Revving the engine to quieten the tappets is true. It tells you to do it when fitting new ones. Which you can get INA tappets on ebay for £80.
