Do you remember the guys fitting the merlin engine to a rover SD1? Was a few years ago now.

Yeah i bought that, only wanted the outer trim that goes in at the end, not tried fitting it but seems decent quality and matches the original.

Am about to recover my headlining, i just bought a new fabric to glue on. Not really sure what to do with the sunroof and its trim, might have to dye them bits. Got my stuff from here http://www.as-trim.co.uk/

The clutch fork bending can cause issues, i've had it twice now. Changed the gearbox and clutch and didn't notice the bent fork so had to do it all again. It will go into gear, but with quite a clunk/bang.

Am sure mine wobbles like that, i've spent many an hour under the bonnet just wiggling things in the hope it will cure a problem.

I sometimes fit a grind stone to the dremel, turn it on and hold it to the item to grind and the stone just disappears instead :lol:

Could use one of them air dusters for pc's etc

I bought the fancy dremel digital, and it just went pop one day, i bought another one to replace it, but next time i will buy a non-dremel brand.

I am using a spray called eastwood rust encapsulator, they do a normal and a rubberised one. Dremels are useful, but only for tiny little nooks and crannys you can't really get into, i've borrowed an air compressor and bought a silverline die grinder for it, air tools can be really cheap. I broke my first dremel trying to clean up my sills. I seem to be chasing rust all over the place at the moment and getting quite down about it, found a new hole last night so need to get the welder guy back again.

When my head gasket went it was lumpy at first due to water in a cylinder, garage advised me a compression test might not always show a head gasket failure.

I remember people paying £150-£200 for the foam :!

Looks amazing, i thought mine looked clean, starting to wish i'd painted a few more bits but oh well. One thing i don't like is using that fabric tape in the engine bay, not easy to keep clean and soaks up a bit of dampness and can turn white and crusty.

It has the wrong bolt holding it down to the sub frame. I wonder if that has caused it. Should be a wider hex bolt.

Do you want the shield as well or fancy selling that?

I think the belt that links the fans is on the front of the fans so sandwiched between fans and rad.

I'd buy the heat shield on its own. Don't need the manifold.

I know a guy on another forum that does trimming, some of his stuff look really good. Was tempted to send him my spare wheel.

I've always struggled getting steering wheels off, corrado was the first car i've done where it just pulls off after nut is undone. I've been sat in cars rocking back and forth holding onto the wheel to try and get them off before :lol:

I get that too, sometimes running a credit card around the small gap between wheel and column gets rid of it. I think its the horn contacts that make the noise.
