  1. I work up in Aberdeen, and my GTR is at my parents house in Dundee, but because of the snow I have been "stuck" in Aberdeen. When I say stuck, I mean I couldnt venture out due to the little one being only 9months and I couldnt afford to get stuck in traffic/snow with her in the car. So because of that I haven't really been able to try it out properly. I will be going back to Dundee this Fri for a week and a half, so if there is snow, the GTR will come out to have a wee play :D The only thing I am slightly concerned about is the salt, the bolts on the underside of the GTR rust like a b!tch :(
  2. Mine is a pig at the moment, not got the greatest tyres, so wheelspinning like crazy. I have Koni coilovers at the front but have dodgy (past it) standard suspension on the rear, so come a bend and the back end goes out, waaahey. Not the easiest driving experience, but I'll tell ya what, after 10mins in it, you're a much better driver
  3. Let me tell you of my personal experience. As you may (or may not?) know I recently bought a brand new GTR. Now the dilemma for me in this was that between placing the order & £3500 deposit on the car and actually picking up the car this May, (were 2 years apart), I had an unexpected, fairly lengthy (10months) period of unployment during which time I had to suport myself, my unemployed wife and carry on paying regular fixed monthly expenditure, such as direct debits etc etc. As you can imagine, 10months is a LONG time and any savings you do have quickly dissappear, and they did. Luckily I managed to start work again last Dec and have been working since then. But when the time came of actually picking up the car, I was not in such a comfortable position as i was when i placed the order & would have to struggle for the first few months paying up the finance plan, so i was actually thinking of cancelling the order. My head said "cancel" (even with losing the £3500, it would have been an easier 12 or so month to follow), my heart said "get the damn car". I went with my heart and decided to go for the car and really budget myself strictly. I couldn't be happier! Financially, I am always now thinking "do I need it, can I get it cheaper, etc etc" and will be like this for a good few months to come but I'm managing (whilst living a £800/month rented flat, paying £2k insurance for the GTR, running my Rado daily etc etc) so it's not as if I have it easy (in terms of monthly outgoings) but I'm still glad I went for it, EVEN though life would be sooo much easier without the GTR. I would have regretted it BIGTIME had I not listened to my heart. If you can afford to, even if its a push, listen to heart but ONLY if you can afford to.
  4. It's a lot of fun 8)
  5. I have a 25mm Neuspeed rear ARB set to its stiffest setting without an uprated front ARB and I quite enjoy it. I had the rear ARB set to the medium setting to start with and that did make a difference, but the difference from medium setting to stiff setting was more than it was from no ARB to ARB with medium setting. I am thoroughly chuffed with the setup. I do want to try the front ARB just to see what its like, but the way it is now compared to without, I'm not too fussed :)
  6. That's very true. As soon as I say "I'm a dentist", the classic "Oh, I have something wrong with this tooth" comes up, sometimes as an attempt to have an "original joke".... And yup, you do have a lot of experience with cars, it obviously shows. Ya know it's a shame that we all live so far apart from different corners of the country. It'd be nice to have a wee Corrado Forum meet for a bit of banter now and then.
  7. I graduated in 2006 and have been working as a dentist since :)
  8. Is there any car you don't know something about?
  9. What other comments have you heard that are funny to us enthusiasts?
  10. Having never tried them, I can already tell you that for that price, you aren't going to get decent coilovers. For that price you can only get springs/shocks and even then, they won't be anything special. IMO, I would firmly recommend against these coilovers. If you want it ONLY to lower the car then fair enough, if you want decent ride quality out of them, then no.
  11. Kev: Thats what I thought, definitely worth a try at that price eh :) The garage where I have put the Corrado to get fixed in at, they said they can get it for that price, wasn't going to argue really :D
  12. should have got V3's! you will end up with them if you try them! :)[/quote:11n1n3yj] I know mate, like I said before, I really REALLY want them, but just financial situation at the moment means it would be a silly move if I went for them. That's the only reason I am not going for them. Hey ho, just means we'll (collectively) have tried another suspenion kit to add to the knowledge base :D
  13. Hehehe, thank you :D :D That's what I thought, they are definitely worth a try at £380, even if they do end up being not all that great, at least more adjustability option than the fixed KW suspension kit at £385. So yeh, shall try & test it out for you lot. When do I get my official Guinea Pig Club badge? 8)
  14. Well I hope you guys are thinking "yay", cos I've ordered them (couldnt wait at that price )
  15. I am getting these for £382 (brand new btw), which is a substantial saving. I'm thinking may aswell give them a try instead of the fixed damping of the KW kit? Yay or nay guys? I'm thinking yay, please say yay damnit!
  16. Thats it, I'm gonna forget calling them, I'm gonna be the guinea pig for this KW Suspension kit :) That's it settled. Thank you everyone for helping me out, you really did help, a lot!
  17. Thats a good idea, I will ring up KW. Remind me again, what spring rates are favourable for us? No, I defo agree in that your choices are good, your suggestions are good, but your influence on the wallet is BAD!!!! But then thats why I do like your input, cos your opinion is always worth noting, and I know that. :) Right, gonna make a call to KW soon enough... EDIT: I dont like this business if you guys getting together down wherever you guys are, move up to scotland!
  18. We need someone to have tried everything out there. Who's volunteering? :D
  19. Good man :D Shame you're so far away mate as a test drive would confirm that you need some V3s in your life :D Kev, you're a bad influence on my wallet, seriously! You know, its KW so its a well respected brand, and its around the sort of price that would make me comfortable right now. What are people's general consensus around this one? In fact I'm ready to buy if I'm honest, its KW, its an attractive price, it should do until I can be comfortable enough to buy the V3s?
  20. Where are you seeing this KW set? It's not on their site?
  21. Ok, I think I am going about it the wrong way. If I want a short term plan, I need to go down the springs/shocks route. My reasoning for this, well coilovers are expensive if you want good ones, therefore cheap ones are going to be utter crap. Springs/shocks are not expensive to get a good combo, therefore cheap-ish ones shouldnt be as bad a the same priced coilovers. There, how does that sound? What that in mind, what would you guys recommend? Sorry about all this, should have just asked this question rather than the "what cheap coilies" question to start with...
