that wa probably his mate trying to inflate the price.theres no way that cars worth that much it needs a new head gasket etc from description.
-
water pump on my current lump is only 2 months old so will be using that one, starter motor same, thermostat is newish so to fan switch. is it worth doing the head gasket with the rest of them? GSF have listed sump, valve, upper and lower manifold gaskets, these all worth doing then?

Disappearing Speaker Grills ???? Why ???
cymru-corrado replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
My ex wasnt allowed to a. open the door.....incase she broke the handle by grabbing at it like her life depended on it. I always opened it for her and b. allowed to get out of the car without me helping her.incase the speaker grills went on walkabout. the fact she was almost 6ft with legs upto her armpits didnt help either. ps point 'a' and 'b' can be fobbed off as being polite in her eyes. .....for me its just prevention against destruction to my car. had custom door pods put in after a while, and the component speakers had tougher grills to protect them. -
or in my case spits oil on the air filter, correct?

the oil level dropped to 1cm above max reading, and was at that level again this morn havent had time to empty abit.just started car up quickly to see what it was running like. started ok then a few secs later sounded like it was about to die then started ticking over again fine.didnt leave it run long incase it gets even more engine damage. -

update its started smoking a little bit on idle now nothing major but noticeable compared to before. how big a job are mew rings? as i can easily line up a new old kr lump for £280 delivered if its not worth fixing. -

dosent have a cat its a 1990 1.8 16v is there an easier way to get some out without jacking up and letting it out the sump? -
was on my way to work this morn and heading up a small hill went from 2nd to 3rd accelerated upto 40ish then all of a sudden this big ploom of smoke came out the back of my exhaust for about 10secs then went....... .....came back to my car after work and there was a trail of oil near the drivers side front splitter, i checked the level and the mark was about 1 inch above the max mark.so im presuming there's too much oil in it which caused the smoke. question. is the smoke serious? and how will to much oil affect the car? ps car was fine driving home and too work apart form the 10 second drama

i live in talbot green, bout 8 miles from Cardiff -
so basically it doesnt matter if i bumped her in a petrol station or public road then? or i do you mean i could be uninsured in a petrol station and be covered somehow but need insurance once your back on public roads?
-
doesnt bother me having to fork out on a reasonable quote, (havent heard off her today and got my people fishing out her insurance which could be duff) just dont get this public/private land lark and what it has to do with any claims.if i smash your house up it s private land so would have to pay up whats different about a petrol station.
-
if thats true how do you settle or is it just tough on damaged car and they have to pay there own costs?
-
what does that mean regarding a claim though? she cant claim? or an insurance company treats it differently?
-
if it was, how does that affect a claim? would have thought a forecourt was still public road as it isnt a private petrol station.
-
im with brentacre so dont know what there actually like on claims anyone ever had to claim or had a claim against them involing them?

this could be my mates brother, though he's not on here. -
well i cant remember seeing her lights at all, and usually any 4x4 height cars lights just shine off my mirrors everywhere and blind me. got a suspicion she might not be insured on the car either or is only a named driver but uses it all the time.
