cymru-corrado replied to mistrall's topic in General Car Chat
you know who you are make yourself heard! i keep seeing a yellow 16v h reg with us spec bumpers and a black vr6 k plate not to mention the fit blond in the h reg valver on sebrings although i have a feeling you dont actually realise what your driving from the funny look you gave me before when i waved at you. o and that guy with the green 2.0L 16v on estorils you knew your car was abit different hence you kept looking at mine but get your butts on here. .....rant over. -
story went to petrol station last friday night and some old biddy was taking about 3days to pay so i thought sod it i'll go in the spare space that had now become available.so put the car in reverse and went into the front of a fiesta behind me.doh! anyway damage to her car was a ding to wing and door damage on mine minor scuff to rear bumper and arch not worth even talking about cost about £2 in touch up paint. anyway she rang me telling me she's had a quote for wait for it £880 yes £880 for her car. I told her quote is a load of cack basically and she said well i only need one quote. Cause quote is stupid i said for her to give me a breakdown of the £880 then get back to me and we'll go from there. Now im wondering what my insurance company would say if i made a claim for this (im with Brentacre) seen as cost is so high. Do they send there own people around to have a look? Pay up? or say get stuffed?

my clocks are half stuck on 102112 was on 101093 when bought but mileage is more like 125k.

was only looking at 200bhp max but if there's more potential i can agree with it.how much is it roughly to do this?

have been considering dropping a vr6 engine in my current valver's shell. fancy a v6 with more grunt and power, although have been considering supercharging or turbocharging my 1.8 16v. which would be the a. easiest (parts and fitting) b. least expensive and how much bhp and torque could i expect from a 16v with a charger of some format. have slighlty been favouring a vr6 as my mate would help out with conversion to keep garage costs down but if its slighlty easy to charge my valver might go that route instead. opinion welcome!

chill out had that on my valver before, think its the highest it will actually read. had a cooling problem on mine so engine was just cooking itself basically.

when the car is standing cold, take off expansion tank cap, then squeeze the top radiator hose you should see air bubbles come up through expansion tank, when you think you've got trapped air out, place cap back on. this seemed to work for me when i had airblock.

bring on the stig.....another chance to get the C on top gear.......and inflate Corrado prices. :D -
the part in the tank that picks up the coolant level could be faulty had this problem on mine.my car also took a couple runs and bleeding of trapped air till it was happy.
-
has it got a vag expansion tank and how old is it?
-
ok i've got boot polish readily available or might try autogym, i did try some trim shine stuff before but it was useless.

i had a full size alloy in mine where first owner must have had it as an optional extra but i took it out so i could have a flat boot rather than a raised hump in it.
