Hmm, I was under the impression 16s only came in 6 spoke (very similar looking to the speedies).
-
5 spoke, so that's 17's yeah?
-
Was thinking about getting an S3 by the way. Might have a drive in one and see how I feel after... Can't afford both though really, plus Laura would probably go mental. What I am going to do is get back on sorting the problems out. Whatever I do I need to get her sorted whether i'm going to sell or keep. Thanks again guys.
-
Cheers mate, i'll take it. :)
-
It sits right on top of it actually touching it. And yeah, I thought that.
-
Mine are actually 6 spokes. I think 16's come in 6 and 17's come in 5.
-
*sigh* Thanks for all the advice guys, thanks for the offer Walesy. I guess i'll have a think about it...

double-6s, that's exactly it. You always end up paying the same whther it's depreciation of maintenance it's just that with the 2nd option you have less stress with it going wrong and a newer car!
-
If i'm going to buy another car it's gonna be loan time and something newer though. I've finished paying off my C so there's no reason why I can't start on another car really!
-
Thing is I don't expect anyone is going to want to pay much for it as it is so I might as well just take it off the road and come back to it in a year or so when i've calmed down.
-
THought you'd jump in Dave, I know i've said on a couple of occasions that i'd NEVER sell. Can't believe it's got to this stage but i'm really starting to dislike my car.
-
Amen to that double-6s mine is on unpaid suspension and the boss is in a bad mood! Glad i'm not the only one but sorry your having probs too. Toad, another kick in the teeth. Checked the weather forecast for the next few days. Every day was rain. :( Anyone want it?

 Thanks for the nudge, i'll go on... Using more oil than it should.. 1l every 1k I think there's a leak in the water reservoir. Something up with the headlight loom.. occasionally full beam comes on a minute or two after locking the car. And then there's the all new wiper problem and random engine bay noise...

[deep breath...] The last few months with the C have not been that great. The enjoyment seems to have gone. Bits (mostly interior) seem to keep falling off it and I can't keep up with repairing them. I wrote a list out this morning of all the stuff I need to do and it's worryingly long and I just do not know when i'll get the time or the inclination to actually put them right. Drivers door handle not working Ciggy lighter not working Heater control lights not working Heater blower only working on 4 Clock adjustment not working Door pin rod snapped Headlight lens has a small crack the list goes on... And then there was the wiper episode last night where the motor busted 300miles from home on a wet Novemeber. Now I get in the car thismorning and i'm hearing a new scrapey squeally noise from the engine bay all the time... So basically what i'm saying is.. I think I want out. I need something more reliable for getting me to and from work. This time last year that wasn't so important. Also because of my job I seem to have less time to do any work on the C and most of the time it seems not enough experience. I bought the car 18 months ago for 4k and in that time i've spent over 3k on servicing, parts, conversions & bodywork. Obviously I wont make anything near that money back but in the most part it has been an enjoyable experience owning my Corrado. My Corrado does have some great plus sides. The bodywork is generally in very good condition, when I spend a few hours cleaning her up she really does look spectacular. The interior is also in very good condition. My Koni/H&R's have only done 5k as has my exhaust & alarm. It has the OBD2 which provides a nice smooth drive & great MPG. I fitted brand new solid brake lines and goodridge hoses + 288s & MK4 rears only a couple of months back. Speedlines still looking fresh... The niggly bits are just getting me down and i'm past the point of no return. When it comes down to it I could spend a bit of time (and money) sorting out all the annoying little bits and then sell her on for a reasonable price but I just have no enthusiasm for doing it. I also think this is why i've been spending less time online. I'm starting to resent Corrados! So I guess the reason i'm posting is to ask for opinions from you guys. Will I get any money for her as she is? Thanks for listening. PS. Whatever happens i'll be staying put on here!

Thanks. Any idea how much the wiper motor was?

I hate wipers. There always seems to be something wrong with mine. Yesterday a friend and I drove 4 hours in the rain to a gig in Oxford. I had the wipers on for about half the journey, normal setting. Just as we came into Oxford the wipers stopped working... :( They seem to be jamming 3/4 way round their revolution, so they go up and wipe the screen but on the way back down they suddenly stop. When they stop you can hear a vibrating noise then all it takes is a slight push down on them and they carry on and then go back up again (and do the same thing). A shoelace later and we had a system in place to get us home whereby my mate pulls on the lace from inside the car and the wiper unjams itself. Sooo... is the motor fecked or could it be something else? Do I need to get busy with the WD40? I haven't had a chance to look at the mech yet because guess what? Someone put a scuttle cover over it! I'll have a look thismorning when the rain dies off but I need to get it sorted as I have to drive to work tomorrow! Cheers guys, Trig

I used some stuff in a tin supplied by James from Audioscape, it had 'thinner' scrawled on the side. I had already tried normal thinners though without much luck. The stuuf from 'scape is good for removing anything sticky though. Once softened a plastic scraper did the trick.

30.4 miles exactly (15.2 each way) which I guess is about average. Only takes me 15 minutes on the way back though which is good.
-
I just renewed with HIC who offered me a lower excess, more miles & more modifications & agreed value for £25 less than brentacre. :D
-
aclwalker, as far as I can tell they only do main beam but TBH it's the main beam that really counts.

Engine Bay looks sweet as a nut Nick. I do prefer the speedlines on your car though. Really really nice. Reminds me to go out and clean mine...

I quite like black tints on a tornado red car.
