What socket for tightening front wheel bearing on a VR?
Taggart replied to adamukcorrado's topic in Drivetrain
You might need a breaker bar to do it up tho! The wiki says 265Nm, I just did it up as tight as possible. -

Do you mean the hub nut? If so IIRC it's a 30mm socket, and just a standard 12 point socket, we got one from halfords. Prob easiest getting a VAG nut. -
Would they not need spacers like the 312s?
-
Not that I've noticed, I've been thinking the same, but never had one go on me, so don't know sound
-
Got EXACTLY the same prob on me missus Polo (just changed wishbone/mounts), seems to be coming from CV/Hub area. Only happens on right lock
-
IIRC G60's aren't covered. Most stuff is the same between LHDs and RHDs, apart from a few bits in different places.
-
How about a corrado forum sticker?
-
I personally prefer the book, easier to work with when your messin about with your car. Bit of oil never hurt a book ;) It's more technical than a haynes, and has exploded diagrams. What corrado do you have? The bentley doesn't cover all of them, and is LHD based for the USA.

Yeah, bearing, hub, driveshaft etc You don't need a torque wrench for it really (we didn't have one that has a hight enough scale) - we just did it up to the FT setting with a metre long bar.
-
Nah, you don't have to remove the hub nut to take the disc off. Taking the stuff off you described is enough.
-
I was told it can affect the Radio too if it's busted. Think it was NickVR6 said that.
-
IIRC there's no difference in OBD1 and OBD2 bottom ends, it's all in the inlet mani, MAF, TB etc Nope, all corrado's were made OBD1. I think the OBD2 came in with the Golf Highline.

I bled mine with the ignition off too.

Dunno, but I've got my CC removed and one of the pipes ticks loudly now (the larger one) I'm looking for a solution to this too

Feckin hell, someone suggests a shop that we actually have on the Isle of Man!!!

Looking to buy a Dremel, which is the best model to go for? Obviously cordless would be easier to use, but is it practical/powerful enough? And if anyone knows where to get one cheep...

I had a dream last night that someone had sanded down half your car. I also dreamed that I was in prison and was watching football. Wonder what that one could symbolise?

I haven't made an offer yet, feel free to PM him.

Gunsons eezi-bleed
-
Oh right, I was interpreting it wrong. :cuckoo: This is for her Polo, I already got my ICE sorted, remember?
-
We were fine after using a Gunsons, changed all the hoses and put DOT5.1 in, no probs after.

PM'd :) I do have a Profile 4 Ultra in my C, so I know how good they are.
-
Been looking already, I'll just keep my eyes peeled. Whatcha mean? She's not imaginary... honest.

My missus doesn't have the same spending power as Wire, looking for a decent 4 channel amp for £100-120, do you reckon 2nd hand is best, or a new cheapie?
-
I really wouldn't trust a fixed one myself, I know there are companies that offer it, but I wouldn't get it done. It would be a weak part of the wheel.
