Crashed: Car at home now...to assess fixability
Taggart replied to Taggart's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah, I'm OK, back and neck a bit sore, as is my ego. Gonna have to get some bits off the car before the insurance nicks it. Tax run out on 31 Dec too :( -
Crashed: Car at home now...to assess fixability

Can't really remember... I'm a bit dazed... they said they'll be in contact to let me know. -
Can't really remember what happened, except spinning and a hedge was involved (hedge is no more). Front end is pretty much buggered, but couldn't really assess the damage in the pitch black. I'm alright tho, but god knows about the car. I'm leaning towards write off.

It might, if it's cracked then air will be getting in there, so I think the ISV damper will need replacing (or bypasssing)
-
Check the bit of foam inside hasn't come loose and moved into the pipe. Are you having any idle problems?
-
It'll have to be the VR box, the 24v would be for 4WD?
-
Better brakes? Must be planning to go faster.
-
So where do I get one for a 24v? :)

WARNING!!! Corrado RIP Thread - Killers at LARGE!!!
Taggart replied to H8RRA's topic in General Car Chat
Good idea , but i'm pretty sure it says in the highway code not to leave your tyres sticking out into the road when parking? Surely it says point them at a kerb, I'm sure it does -
As Kev said that seems excessive Rpmayne, I've got a true 2.9, with a schrick, and all the other gubbins stated in my sig, and I get about 22mpg with hard driving.

Looks like you're putting more in than me then! I'm just putting the engine itself in, and it's got a corrado loom.
-
I'd guess you'd have to mention the discount to get it. He's not going to volunteer the info if someone is booking in anyway. He'd still charge VAT though, just give a discounted rate. (On the labour, not the VAT)

.....and your first step towards capital gains tax ;) Guess what Tom was revising last night!
-
Yeah, it's all Tom's fault
-
What's next for you then Jay - a charger?
-
2.5k is pretty damn good (I presume it includes engine) Tempted to give the fella a call myself, see what he quotes. I still can't see me getting my car back on the road in a hurry. (Went out for a quick lap of the course yesterday and made myself wonder why I'm doing the transfer when my engine runs so well )
-
I think the ECU can cope without a remap with just those minor mods.
-
Should have mine next week hopefully 8) I'll not be getting my engine til around new year, so I guess I'll be last in this race :( stanbates, how much are you paying for the install?
-
For you maybe :D Think I'm looking at nearer a month.
-
The gasket numbers are different, 021 253 039 & 021 253 050 for the VR and 022 253 039 & 022 253 050 for the 24v
-
I would be interested IF it is the same as a 24v engine!

Henny's post here sums it up.
-
You mean ours aren't here yet Tom...
