like this, lookin' mean now.

Looks brilliant but the new rims scream lower me more for some reason.

Started paint stripping the engine cross member and gearbox end plate. Not that much fun but has to be done. And first day of my christmas Holiday!!!

No problem. I mean't contact Pirelli directly though, my fault read what i wrote and it wasn't clear. Conti's are good but wear quickly. Got a spare 225/35/17 Falken which I bought for the bodyshop to shape my arches (pirelli's didn't arrived in time), looks a good tyre. Quite narrow for a 225 which helps.

C&R recently sold a secondhand set for £400.

My person favourites this year in no particular, order as i couldn't decide between them OSV's - Just perfect really, has an ore about it like a new factory car. Haywires - Doesn't compromise on his goals. ToffeeRado - First car in ages that made me think "wow" and its fresh exterior is perfectly judged. Not included your C, Russ. Next year it will rock everyone. Link to the Vortex Thread

Its back on the scene next year, going to be a cracking year with new C's from Venom and Carl Taylor.

See you got one of the Cup mirrors on. Looks like you got it angled perfectly too. Nice work. I'm off work next week so i'll visit a few breakers yards to see if i can find those parts.

   If you want to make sure its ok while your at work then I dont mind looking after it for you 8) Thanks for the offer

Yes, i got them from http://www.mytyres.co.uk. They also operate in the US under this name http://www.tires-easy.com/ There a Pirelli PZero Nero and they offer a better ride than the 205/40/17 Toyos i had before which really surprised me. I also went for a 215/35/17 up front. German cars usual go for 225's alround but i wanted the stretch on the narrower front rim to match the rear. Only Pirelli and Conti's are available in 215 and 225/35/17 with matching tread patterns. EDIT: Just checked that website, they don't list Pirelli but you could try speak to they directly. I found them to be very helpful. HTH,

If your splitter ain't covered in muck after a trip it isn't low enough eh' Had to put up a clean pic too, that dirty one's bothering me.
-
Probably cos the engine gets hot and leaves water marks i'd guess.
-
no, standard seats are about 2" wider.
-
been watching that thread. Can't believe how fast the car's coming together.
-
Ok Lee I found one. it's before I ran the wires threw the frame rails and and hooked any of them up actually that is the day after I got the engine in. how did you get the wiring into the frame rails? Did you have to extend the loom?
-
mines not show clean all the time. Couple of pics will show you what I mean, just elbow grease the day before.
-
never rush a bodyshop is my advice.

I really respect Jay for using his car every day. I'd love to do the same but i'd go insane with worry. Don't know how you do it..

Sorry to see this mate, could happen to anyone. Hope you get a mint front end for christmas :!:
-
sorry nearly missed your post. Not 60 hours yet but i've only done the box, got the bellhousing to do yet (having a week off) so technically i'm half way through. Think i've got 20 hrs in it. Not as hard as i thought from what i'd read in magazines. Its this part of a project that i really enjoy, detailing stuff to death. Hate wiring, luv it when it go to plan but hate sorting niggles. Get one thing right and find a new problem

I have taken it to work a few times but end up starting out the window all day guarding it

The daily driver story again. It is my only car, but i don't use it for work. I bus it everyday, not because i don't want too but it become increasingly difficult with the 48mm of ground clearance, no front plate, not fogs, splitrims but most of all, i've got 6years of spare money and time it in. Its insured for an agreed value which isn't even close to what its worth to me. I can't afford for it to get hit and there have been close calls, hence the bus. My plan has always been to get a daily driver but when it comes down to it I can't afford to run two cars. This one costs me £1000 a year to insure. Unfortuately i don't have a company car of my own but my parents have an engineering company and have an L200 which a can borrow if its not in use. So not sure how to class it really, not strickly a daily driver but get used a helluva lot more the vast majority of showcars and did 11 shows this year. Basically i've gone over the top with my daily driver to the point i now have to be very careful where i take it. Hope that explains it.

It was painted by Jason Buckley, have a really good look at mine and compare to any other bodyshop. Particularly the sills!!
-
yep, that right especially with aluminium. Steel is a different matter, its really hard to polish and only lasts 18months if the car isn't garaged.
-
The gearbox in now polished!! Really pleased with it, even got a bit carried away and removed large casting line across the top of the box for a smooth look. Got to mask it up for chroming now and make a start on the bellhousing which I placed next to the gearbox in one of the pics so you can see difference, before and after. CaiosG60 PWR, The underside of the box was very pitted.
