Agreed, TMT McCoy , Please start a thread in the members gallery!! Really want to see more.

This is the part i really enjoy, got to admit. Just really like transforming parts from old and dirty to better than new. Look forward hopefully meeting you soon.
-
Yes it has, can't remember the guy's name that did it, user name was something like GT-G60, was based in either Ireland or Isle of Man and posted on the corrado mailing list.

Wow, can't believe i've inspired you. Your cars much better than mine, seen it on E38 forum and loved it. Don't worry about posting pics, who wouldn't want to see work of that quality, now I'm more hopeful mine will work out. Interested to know more about triple chrome plating, heard it mentioned with regard to wheels but not sure its a process many UK platers are familar with, we don't really do prep to the standard you US guys do. Mainly cause the classic car scene is king here rather than Hot/Street Rod. Guess its just dipped in the bright nickel three times? Thanks again for your comments, really means alot from someone I totally respect.

looking good Bill, when can we see the finished* article. *I know there never finished but in a current state of evolution until payday.
-
The chromers i've used haven't let me down so far. Not sure if it will chrome or not, think the biggest problem i'll have is the finish will be iffy in places and abit gold due to the complicated surfaces or they will refuse to plate it full stop. It won't be perfect, there too many different angles. But sometimes you set yourself a goal and do your best. I've never seen a chrome or even polished VR box before so i'm halfway there, hopefully it will work. I'll be pretty gutted if doesn't work as the case will be scrap and i'll have to polish up another one and settle for a polished box.
-
Thats electrical copper tape. Basically i mask the areas which i don't want chroming with the copper tape. Once the box is chromed the tape (which gets chromed too) is peeled off to reveal a chrome free surface.
-
Not sure exactly, i'd probably still be sanding if the TV wasn't so crap over christmas. At a guess 50 for the whole lot.
-
Here you go, all polished. A few area's need a little more buffing but you get the idea. Got source a few more bits such as the brackets and weights but they should be easy. Now got to get the parts to the chromers and order a new clutch/starter motor and peloquin/Quaife ATB. Just wish i could afford Stealth's 6 speed kit.

I think I remeber PhatVR6 mentioning in a thread the other day that its possibly run a 7 second 1/4 mile? think its in the low 9's or high 8's

yes, my plug leads are hidden. They will match the power cable for the ICE but think red is definately the right choice so they are instantly recognisable as Eibach bars. Can't wait to fit them now, with my wheel and suspension set up should be an unreal amount of grip in the dry and a frightening experience in the wet!!

Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive January 06]

I'd guess that would be NJA666?, user name not reg. -
Ok, thanks. Looks like there staying red, bought them secondhand so theres a few blemishes on them so I'll strip them and re-coat them the same colour. Put another 4-5hours into the bellhousing yesterday, bit behind schedule but pics should be up tonight (if i don't lose my DSL again  ) or tomorrow.

Spencer hammered the strip for most of last year, even entered a show n shine with it.

The red westside car has had a face lift. Got to say, got alot of presence, but i do really like red corrado's. I spy a cream trim too, like it lots.

very nearly crashed a company Touareg today. A 2.5 ton 4x4 and it can't handle a bit of slush because VW fit Bridgestone performance tyres  Just slid down a gentle sloping road straight out onto a main road. Luckily there was no traffic so i could hang a left. To make it worse, a Hyundai Coupe handled it with no problem.

Dubsport built a 480bhp corrado for a customer. Recently sold to Nick Hosker, owner of the orange Mk1 VR6T. Corrado is going to be his daily driver.

yeah, he might scrape his rims

its a wicked car. The carbon fibre is done properly too with care taken to ensure the grain is running in the right direction. Changing the subject a little, bought some Eibach anti-roll bars for my car. Had planned to strip off the red powder coating and chrome plate them. Now not so sure as it maybe crack off, not sure how much the bars flex but chrome doesn't like it much. Here my options, would be grateful for opinions and feedback. 1, Chrome them and powder coat clear (hoping it will keep the chrome from cracking), downside is they look like std bars chromed up. 2, Powder coat them silver so they blend in with the chrome wishbones but the downside again is they'd look like std bars. 3, Leave them red so they stand out more as uprated bars. cheers

think all VW seats are made by recaro.

Do u have pictures of this car and all his chrome? Heres a few pics i have of chrome gearbox's. First one is of Simons 20V gearbox, not sure if he's had the ribs removed from the bell housing or whether the 20V doesn't have them. The second pic is from a 16V mk1 which was built in germany and imported to the UK.
-
Venom sell them off the shelf.

Very little snow in leeds :(

easy for you to say  . Rubbing the whole box down with 120grit at the moment and my fingers a really sore so i've not touched it today. Hoping to post up pics of a fully polished bellhousing by sunday night but still got more 120grit sanding to do, then move onto 400, 600, 800 and 1200grit before polishing with the dremel. The gearbox was much easy than the bellhousing, was supposed to be the other way around.
