Will do Lee ! Which shows are you doing? Pretty much all of them with the exception of Inters, its not worth the fuel. More of a trade show these days.
-
needs matching indicators and fogs tho'. pointless otherwise.
-
-
thats right, they weren't too bad to do. Think i'll powdercoat them clear too as it can be a complete pain re-chroming stuff every two years.
-
Thats probably down to taste, come along to a show and have a look for yourself. The wheels and ride height will make perfect sense in that environment. De-badging and a set of splitrims don't cut the mustard nowadays unfortunately. For the future, the theme will always be the same but i'll continue to improve the overall quality of the car.

Spoke to a few companies about turbo conversions. They don't recommend forged pistons as they lead to increased oil usage. Better to keep it simple.
-
thanks mate, mean's alot when someone takes the time to study the detail and quality of work. Yes i will be at E38, garage! My car's been built on the driveway in the rain and snow so thats no excuse, get stuck in.
-
Here's a quick pic to give you an idea. No major changes, just lifting the bar a little with more underside detailing. Brakes are behind schedule but should be in place for GTI Spring Festival. BTW, if you've got a pic of my car from behind on the M1 be sure to post it

thats probably steve taking the piss, definately took longer than that.
-
its for sale, far as i know steve's daily driver is a mk2 edition blue 16v

Now in the current issue of PVW.

Its time to make it happen this time. Guest we need to decide who's doing what and filling which roles. Guess those roles? would be:- Publisher Photoshop'r Photographer/s Graphics Project Manager Show season is coming up so photography can be arranged at the shows. Group shots etc. If someone could establish a cost for the per-orders to cover that would be great start.

Elsecar is a CGTi northern meet, also my fav show. Not bothering with inters, waste of petrol. Worthersee next year when i'll be ready.

I'd be up for a calendar. :D Couple of suggestions, theres appears to be a bit of friction between the various camp's CCGB and CF. Thread appears to be going the same way as the sprinter thread, can we stick on topic with a CF calendar with respect to Andi as its being discussed on his forum only fair IMO. I'd really like to see this project go ahead and propose that those who really want a calendar pay £10 (now ie. discounted) up front to the calendar "Committee" so they have the funds to produce a cracking calendar. Once the calendar is finalised (and broke even with up front orders) it is offered for sale to anyone at say £12.50 to £15 with proceeds going to the CF or the following years calendar.

You know i never count my chickens, should be at elsecar. ICE is nearly there, still waiting for the brakes, 9weeks now
-
Had my MOT two weeks ago. Mine was too low for the roller so the MOT guy just inspected the front bumper carefully and stated the brakes must be fine. Really!!

Its always nice to come home to find a new issue of Sprinter on the doormat  . Thats important when people are considering whether to renew membership, there car could be in the next issue and they'd miss it. I agree with Blue 16V, CCGB should forget trying to provide a forum, its too late. Put the effort into a cracking bi-monthly or quaterly mag with loads of show reviews (lets face it theres enough shows now, i'll write articles myself if you like), members cars and coverage of local meetings. Realistically the mag needs the following:- Editor Regional Hosts to do a page/paragraph an issue, Members cars, 1 or 2 per issue, Couple of Show reviews News + Stories Couple of tech items. Gallery of Members Cars

late one was discontinued in 2002. I tried to buy one in july.
-
Looking for constructive ideas, not a bashing session.
-
Should hope so, its 2005! How about reducing the membership cost to those who download, those that want paper copy pay an extra £5 a year?
-
Maybe sprinter doesn't need to be printed. PDF download in a members area of the website? Would free up funds to commission some articles? Don't think the mag should rely solely on the members for articles, that the current problem.

Got a letter in the post today, think the club needs some feedback with regards to Sprinter. Sad to heard Jeremy has stood down as Editor (You've done a great job, magazine was much more professional with you at the helm, wished you'd had more support). My thoughts are sprinter needs a committee to revive it not just a new editor. Anyone one else have any idea's on improvements, its in all our interests to see it return to strength? Constructive comments only,

Yeah i'm surprised, subtle car's are slated for being boring and wilder cars are tacky. Can't win
-
he's likes building cars, once there done he looks for something else.
-
Steve built this car for himself and wasn't trying to impress anyone. It's a solid FVWSH VR6 which just needed a freshen up bodywise and is now for sale for a very reasonable sum. Personally i think it's very nice and will have high "wow" factor at the shows. Photo's are a great equalizers, they lift some cars and others are much better in the metal.
