  1. I think the part you're after is called the 'window slot seal' Left: 535 837 473 A 01C Right: 535 837 474 A 01C Ah - That's the one you've ordered, the £41 part The £112 part is the bit that goes around the window frame
  2. Have you got the plastic trim which goes along the back of the headlining? Number 15 in the pic Must not have any breaks in it please :)
  3. 1 = short term memory, which gets erased after leaving the car for an hour 2 = long term memory, doesn't get erased unless you clear it manually or the numbers max out If you hold the stalk button to the left zero for a few secs, 0 If you hold the stalk button to the right zero for a few secs, -->0 that clears the long term memory
  4. You don't have to remove the whole dash to fit it, but I'm pretty sure you need to take the glovebox out, for access. As the seller says, you'll need to drill a couple of holes in the bulkhead for the hoses. You should be able to use your existing heater matrix, it's just the blower that's different (bigger). The blower motor gets in the way of the undertray, which is why they need to be trimmed down a bit. ---------- Post added at 8:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:14 PM ---------- I think there's an aircon specialist in Surrey, from what I can remember. Some of the old threads on here mention them - I think they were called ACE, in Chertsey?
  5. Looks like it's the full kit. You're better off chopping your existing undertray carefully with a dremel, tbh. The one's I've seen, that were done from new at the dealers, all look butchered (and rushed..)
  6. Hmm, not sure, bought mine about 2 or 3 years back :) Wouldn't be surprised if it's obsolete, VW have a habit of doing that... Here's the part numbers, if you're interested: 535 863 284 B 01C - Cigarette lighter trim 535 959 543 - Switch Looks much smarter than those nasty Diavia buttons, especially if you've not got room on the dash, because of heated seat buttons.
  7. I might be up for some cams too :) Are we talking roughly 20bhp increase and 20lbft torque?
  8. You can buy them from the $tealer, around £60 IIRC ---------- Post added at 4:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 4:20 PM ---------- Oh, and the switch is seperate to the actual ciggie lighter surround. Switch ~£60 Ciggie lighter surround, with the 2 holes, ~£15
  9. Just glue a couple of razor blades behind the badge :)
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_npmv=3&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=vr6+abs+sensor
  11. I test drove a couple of MK5 GTI's, and really didn't like them... felt like driving a greenhouse  They were pretty noisy too. Ended up buying a MK4 anniversary instead, for around £5k.
  12. Oh dear.. http://company-director-check.co.uk/director/912982389
  13. How much were those centercaps? :) I was thinking of getting a set, as my Golf's VW centers are a bit milky..
  14. Yeah, I thought copper grease would be fine for the pins, too.. And surely some regular lithium grease from Halfrauds would be fine for the piston, unless anyone knows a reason against..? :)
  15. I bought some 288mm calipers recently, and plan to strip them down and replace the seals. Am I correct in thinking that the piston needs to be lubricated with some fancy paste? ETKA lists these 2: G 052 150 A2 - lithium grease paste G 000 650 - lubricating paste Do I need them both? Are there any alternatives to the VW stuff, as it's around £50 for the 2 tubes! Thanks
  16. Yeah I think it about £600, as long as you give them your old rack. I bought one from VW too, I just don't trust GSF/ECP with anything other than oil and brake pads
  17. I'm sure they used to sell this in Halfrauds: http://www.amazon.co.uk/HEAT-Leather-Vinyl-Repair-kit/dp/B0012JZI2I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333743374&sr=8-1 ..maybe not anymore then :)
  18. Halfords sell flexible paint which you can spay on to vinyl. I think they also used to do vinyl repair kits for scratches and scuffs
  19. Hmm.. if it's an uprated loom, I'm pretty sure there should be 2 relays, around near the battery
  20. Try taking the two relays out of their casings and clean them up. My headlights failed after I gave the car a wash... I opened up the relays and there was damp inside. Also, the copper wiring looked like it neeed a clean. I put the 2 open relays in some Coke overnight, they came up looking like new  A bit of WD40 after that and they were fine, no more probs. :)
  21. Yeah that speedline's been on the shelf for years :)
