  1. That sucks.. :( Ba5tards need stringing up by their balls... Had a similar thing happen to my MK2 GTI a couple of weeks back. Loads of scratches on the boot lid  Like you say, it's the principal of the thing - that some little scrote has violated your property
  2. Finally got this damn bolt off today! Had to hammer on slightly larger torx bit, like some of you guys suggested :) New bolts on order from the $tealers Just out of interest, where do I get hold of a spline socket? The torx bits do the job, but I'd rather use the correct tool next time!
  3. Unfortunately it's a write off... Just kidding   All fixed now, thanks for asking :) Bumper looks as good as new, they manage to get rid of a dent/bulge in it really well Will try and post some new pics if the weather's is nice this weekend
  4. Plopp doesnt taste that bad! ....Kak on the other hand :gag:
  5. Park diagonally across 2 spaces
  6. It's a torx bolt (12sided star shaped) and it looks like the threads are buggered :( Need to remove the cover, so I can replace my accelerator cable
  7. Storm or not, all VR6's need dropping! I doubt the guy that designed the car in the first place would have wanted it looking like it's on stilts  I'm sure I read on here that the later VR6's were higher 'cos owners were complaining to VW about damaging sumps :?
  8. Slightly off topic, but when I had to replace my ignition switch and got the old one off, I took it apart just out of curiosity. It stank of peanuts!! Sorry, just had to share that...
  9. Ukyo Katayama  Anyone remember the time he knocked over a marshal?!? Another Jap driver - Taki Inoue - had the opposite happen; he got knocked over by a marshall (These were both low speed accidents, so no one actually died, thank God...!)
  10. Kev's Supercharged VR6 sounded mental at the RR day today :notworthy:
  11. So you're saying that you can get rid of the rear bumpstops if you put coilovers on? Never heard that before. No.. they are already on the pre-assembled coilover
  12. Rear bumpstops should be already included in the coilovers (I've got Silverline-X's too) But yeah, you'll defo need new VAG front top mounts
  13. I've always loved RXII's but, as you say, they're a b!tch to keep clean :( That's why I'm sticking to low maintainance Solitudes
  14. One of my colleagues calls mine a Carrera :?
  15. Yeah, looked very nice -unlike some of their work... Can't stand it when they chav up motors, putting flames down the sides, huge spoliers etc You should check out Overhaulin on Discovery Home - now their cars come out amazing EVERY time!
  16. thank you, what a nice gesture! here's your car photochopped ;) Thanks
  17. I'm sure you've got the right to take it anywhere you like to get it fixed - just that your insurance company might not give you a hire car if you dont go through their approved monkeys.
  18. I took a screenshot of this for selbekk :D
  19. Negative. Dealer fit/aftermarket thing only for the UK
  20. I dont think all garages have liability insurance - Quite often there are signs in garages saying something like 'vehicles left here at owners risk' etc.. But glad to here it was all fixed :)
  21. Yeah we park it at Madrid airport's long stay car park, and then come home  I think (hope) there's some scrap yards in Madrid. Or we can just give the car away for free to some random stranger :)
  22. Here's a rough price list I knocked up: £150 entry fee £100 for the Car £100+ Spare parts £56.50 European AA cover   £250-350 Petrol (A diesel would probably cut this immensly) £150 Food/accomodation for about 4 days (or maybe sleep in the car..) £50 Ferry to calas £32 Flights home for 2 people ~£80 for 6 months road tax (but some of this would be refunded after we scrap the car) ~£350 for 10 months insurance via Elephant (again, a large chunk of this would be refunded) Total: £1418.50!!!
  23. I bought the same parts a couple of weeks ago 8) Can't stand using spades either
