  1. Yeah, they're one of the few insurers who charge pro-rata (by the day) ..so if you cancel your policy after x-months, you dont get back some crummy amount, as you would with other insurers.
  2. Just dropped the car off for repairs. Hopefully will be all sorted by the end of the week. Not nice having to pay for it outta my own pocket... :x The garage is very impressive  http://www.euroamericancarservices.com/
  3. Eh? They're the switches on Recaro's - Height and position adjusters :) I think dazfxvw means the slidy buttons on the dashboard
  4. Beautiful car mate, I was parked next to you at E38 last year :)
  5. Absolutely no idea mate.. :( Paint under the wheel arch lip is flaking - how the hell does that happen when someone has smacked you up the backside? :? The back tyre looks like its been rubbed too
  6. It happened where I park near work - an industrial estate... :( I take my MK2 Golf there most days, and have never had any problems with anyone hitting me No idea if there's any CCTV, I'll ask around tomorrow. I only noticed it when I got home, because I walked up the car from the front, so didnt give it a once over before I left...
  7. When I first saw the white splotch on the back, I thought it was paint (or a large bird turd..) Then it dawned on me that the bumper had been whacked. Amazingly, I cant see any panel damage, just paint flaking off the back wing Probably not much point going through the insurers if the bumper is still intact - I think I've got a £300 excess, so getting the paint fixed will hopefully be cheaper
  8.    Some ar$ehole hit me today... Rear bumper paint has come off, nearside rear wing has paint missing... Dont know if the bumper has actualy been cracked, I'll be amazed if its ok though Why why why!
  9. I've got the 9855R. It's a cracker, but the slide-touch bar takes some getting used to There's sh!t loads of features on it.. The build quality is fantastic. Leagues ahead of my old Kenwood headunit (which cost about the same 5 years ago)
  10. I dont see the point of having locking wheel nuts, if some chav can just go to Halfords and buy steal a removal kit.. :?
  11. I've got agreed value with Adrian Flux. My previous insurer - Chris Knott - also offered an agreed value policy I know everyone raves about John @ Brentacre, but when I rang up and spoke to him, he seemed downright arrogant.. And his non-agreed value policy was about £100 more than my current policy with Flux :fist:
  12. Cheap quotes are all well and good, but if your car is written off, the b4stards will only pay out the book price... Much better to get an agreed valuation in my opinion  I don't think you can with Elephant
  13. VW will charge you about £270... :shocked!: I did buy a brand new one for my sister's 16v Golf from a shop on Fleabay. Only cost £40! That was a couple of years back. Just tried looking for the company, and their website appears to have disappeared :| Used to be http://www.lowtension.com
  14. Blimey, you really think thats a good deal?!? Considering they used to be about half the price, it's a bloody rip off!
  15. Does the alarm try to go off when you switch on the ignition? If it does, and you are sure the immob. is off, then yeah, its most likely the battery! I had this happen to me over the weekend. New battery cured it
  16. Installed new stereo, worked, but cant start the car now... Flat battery methinks :(
  17. Yeah I've read that some people have had problems with the touch slide bar failing, but generally the reviews rate the unit well :) Was thinking of getting the model similar to this, but with the buttons instead of the bar, but this one looks cooler
  18. I haven't dealt with 'em over the phone, but I have popped into their 'shop' (anyone who's been there will know it's more like a stairwell   ) a few times, and they've been very helpful :) Especially when I had an A4 sheet full of part numbers  took 'em ages to get through it, but they didnt seem miffed
  19. ..after a few months struggling with my Kenwood, I've finally got one of these on order! :D Cant wait! Anyone else got one of these? (Alpine 9855R)
  20. Ahh the Oettinger VR6 8) Looks lovely, nice wheels too :)
