  1. Good point, thought it was probably a stupid question
  2. Good to hear it's finally getting there. Out of curiosity, why's there a cable taped to the rear screen?
  3. Cross drilled rotors are a bad idea unless you've done a big brake conversion, the holes weaken the disc and they often crack around the holes. Not such a problem if they are good quality big discs that are man enough to take drillings, but are more trouble than they're worth on cheap discs. I know for a fact that a lot of manufacturers only produce them in small sizes and thicknesses because people demand them for aesthetic reasons. Oh and you need to regularly clear the build up of dust in the holes or they'll have the same effect as standard discs. Anyway, the idea of them is to dissipate the gases given off by the braking and help prevent brake fade. Stick with standard ones unless you frequently drive on twisty roads where you are using the brakes a lot and suffer from fade.
  4. Holy crap that looks nasty  Must have been one heck of an impact to get the roof and front bumper like that! Hopefully no-one was seriously injured.
  5. Don't know how much work it would be to fit a charger but something like the BBM supercharger integration kit would probably come in handy. They also sell a 16v turbo kit, see here. Only thing is they're both listed as mk2 kits so you'd have to contact them to make sure they will fit.
  6. Only the league founder will know the number (unless someone else wrote it down), try pm'ing ']['H3R4POR I believe it was one of his mates that created the league.
  7. Good work Shaggsy, I think they look great

    16V head

They have a website http://www.cncheads.co.uk/index.html Don't recall ever seeing anything but praise for their work, have a look through the gallery on their site, stunning workmanship!
  11. Looked great to begin with trig but it looks loads better now it's lowered 8) Wasn't too keen on the MO's on Kevs car but they seem to suit yours perfectly.
  12. Not true, a thatcham cat 1 alarm HAS to have a battery back-up power supply
  13. Cambelt tensioner on the 1.8 is about £40 inc. vat from VW, GSF do them for about £20 inc. vat but for something critical like that I'd stick with VAG for peace of mind.
  14. Gotta admit it never ceases to amaze me how nice everyone on here seems to be, since buying my rado I've spent way more time on this site than any other, and that's all down to how friendly it is round here. Doesn't seem to matter how trivial a problem is or how many times we've seen it before, Corrado related or not there's always someone there willing to help another forum member. Were in not for this forum I probably would have got rid of my car a long time ago, but because of the great community here I've stuck with it and will hopefully be here for many years to come.
  15. That's right, there were only 10 automatics in each colour.

    wiper washers

Have you tried holding it on for a few seconds? Sometimes it takes a while for the fluid to get through if it's not been used for a while.
  17. Lupo wipers are old news, TT wipers are where it's at now http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43905 Here's the guide for the Lupo ones anyway http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.php/Lupo_wipers
  18. White smoke from your exhaust is usually steam, normally it's caused by condensation in the exhaust when the weather's cold, and only there for the first few miles. If it's there all the time there's a fair chance your head gasket is leaking, have a look for sludge on the oil filler cap or dipstick and keep an eye on your coolant levels.
  19. I heard there was a feature in the mid 90's where one of the presenters drove a late VR (think it was a Storm) back to Karmann, someone was supposed to have it on VHS and was going to get in on a computer and upload it. Not sure if they ever did though?
  20. As it says on the site... Section 10.1 of PACE code C basically says "A person whom there are grounds to suspect of an offence, must be cautioned before any questions about an offence, may be given in evidence to a court in a prosecution." So people have been getting away with speeding tickets by giving the details of the driver to the authorities but stating that they are giving them on the undertanding they won't be used in any proceedings against them due to them not receiving a caution.
  21. The PACE loophole has been closed now according to speed-trap.co.uk see here

    EBC BRAKES

Nothing unfortunate about that, brake fluid is designed to absorb water. Even though the sytem is sealed microscopic amounts of water permeate any rubber seal/hose and master cylinder reservoirs (nylon). If that's left in there it will corrode the system from the inside out, also when cold enough it will form little chunks of ice, not something you want plugging up the system. Silicon based fluids are more compressible than the traditional glycol ether based fluids so will give you a spongier pedal. Personally I'd stick with DOT 4 and have it changed annualy, that's what the internal compoments were designed for and there is the possibility they might not react favourably to the chemical compound in DOT 5.1.
  23. Sadly nothing exotic for me... Been in - close call between 400+bhp Skyline r33 gtr, and an Elise 111s Owned - Toledo 16v (150bhp), but the C is quicker round the bends Not that interesting but a Delorean was the rarest car I've been in.
  24. Awesome Cobra there 8) One of my all time favourite cars! That metro reminds me of a rusty white nova convertible I saw a while back :pukeright:
  25. Cheers craigowl (wasn't sure if it was part of the trade range), I'll pick some up next time I go there and give it a try.
