  1. never heard that one before! Each to their own though, like ben16v says your best bet is to use the search though mate this has been covered once or twice before  . Whatever you choose make sure to change all the mounts and bushes as well since they will mostly be well past their best by now.
  2. admittedly I did bend the arms slightly to put more pressure on the blades  ... I'm sure the lupo wipers are really good but I'm not changing mine when they already work perfectly well. The kr inlet cam is from the 1.8 so changing it will do absolutely nothing, you can change the cams in a 1.8 but I've never looked into it since i have the 2.0
  3. Not sure about the emissions but do a search for TSR, you'll find their reputation has been pretty bad since Tim Stiles left, and the Pack A head they do is apparantly a rip off.
  4. probably the best/most useful mod that can be done Everyone on here raves about the Lupo wipers but I've just got standard arms with Bosch blades (drivers side has a spoiler) and never had any problems whatsoever.
  5. There's a 16v tuning guide in the Wiki, like scarlett says though the KR cam will give you the most bang for your buck. (would I be right in thinking you should change the tappets, cam chain and rocker gasket at the same time though?)
  6. Anyone know the part number (and price) for a genuine central silencer for a 2l 16v? Mine seems to have one from a 1.8 bodged on :? . The local tyre/exhaust place want to put a Bosal silencer on (£105+vat), but after doing a search on here I'd much rather have genuine than Bosal cr@p. Insurance is due next month so I don't have enough spare wedge for a cat back SS system :( Mods: if this is in the wrong section please move it. Cheers. (it's the section in the pic below)
  7. That's women for you, I had a similar conversation with my sister about her ex's TVR, she'd been in it loads of times and driven it, but didn't have a clue which one it was even when I showed her pictures
  8. Excellent point! Only had a quick glance at the story at work but having seem that windscreen there's definately something dodgy going on :?
  9. I reckon the civic would most likely win
  10. Another vote for coilovers, no longer does it look like a 4x4
  11. Oh man I'd be fuming if they did that to any of my cars!
  12. Just had a look at the wiki article, wouldn't it be better to have the Haywire method from page 5 of the first thread on there instead? Also, there's an english translation (not babelfish nonsense) on Oichan's site here
  13. That price sounds about right for one with so few miles. Welcome to the forum btw.
  14. Have a look at the interior ... very scary!
  15. But you would have a 300zx? I heard you weren't even allowed to buy one of those unless you wear a gold medallion, have a big chest wig and use copious amounts of Brut aftershave
  16. How on earth do they get away with selling stuff like that?!? Both of them are deathtraps!
  17. The 3000gt is 4wd, always wanted one myself till I spoke to a car dealer mate of mine who said they aren't that fast and feel really heavy going round bends
  18. If I didn't have the corrado I'd be driving an a4 2.8 quattro, e36 bmw 328 or an audi coupe Edit: read the title of the post properly, thought it was VW not VAG. In which case other cars I'd have are Alfa 156 V6 or the GTV V6
  19. I gave my mate and his missus a lift home the other night and she thought it was a Capri! Anyway, I doubt you could class standard 16v's as sleepers, most of the boy racers round here seem to know what it is and don't even bother trying to race (an idiot in a cherokee tried it on from the lights ... soon showed that fool a clean pair of heels!)
  20. That sounds remarkably like mine, apart from the clunks and there isn't too much torque steer ... but then it is only a 16v. Also it's pretty much always pulling to the left as well (not just because of the camber of the road either). Sometimes though it feels perfectly fine. :? Changed all these as well, and the suspension, and have had it laser aligned more than once.
  21. Hmm, that's yet another unhappy TSR customer then! I was thinking about using them myself since they're pretty close, but looked into it and have heard nothing but bad things about them since Tim Stiles sold it.
  22. Mate that's the right one, it's branded Quantum Synta and is in a silver bottle (the gold is fully synthetic), synthetic blend just means it's a mix of synthetic and mineral based oil (i.e. another way of saying semi-synthetic).
