No catch with that headunit, a friend of mine has installed quite a few of them and can't recommend them highly enough. They can even show what g-forces you're pulling round bends! If I didn't have loads of other stuff to fix first I'd have one in my car.
-
I had a little race against my mates mk2 8v (std apart from scorpion exhaust) and there was very little in it, his pulled away slightly at low revs but once mine got above 4k it started to catch up.
-
Probably not a sensor then, don't know a great deal about the VR6 but I'm pretty sure any of the following can make it run lean: dodgy lead, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fouled injector, crap fuel, slight fuel line leak ... and no doubt other stuff I can't think of at the moment. Most likely a dirty injector though. Or if you're lucky the plug gap may have been set incorrectly and caused it to melt.
-
Quite a few things can make an engine run lean, it would be worth plugging it into VAGCOM first to see if there are any error codes.
-
If it's running lean the plugs can melt, I'd keep an eye on it and if the new one starts to go then have a leak down test done to make sure the cylinder/valves aren't knackered.

You can do the WUR mod on 16v corrado's aswell, good for a few extra bhp I believe. Have you got a quote for the work? When I have the time I wouldn't mind taking mine up there for the same thing.

Ok perhaps "shopping trolley" doesn't quite apply to the hot hatches so much (172/182, williams, v6 etc.) What about a BMW Alpina B3? Or an Escort Cosworth? (Might be too much money at roughly £13K though)
-
Personally if I was going to spend £10K on a car there's no way it would be on a clio, UK Supra twin-turbo all the way! 326bhp, 0-60 in 4.5 ... or a french shopping trolley?
-
Pretty sure it's been posted on here a few times before but that first one is Ugly! Looks a bit like a scooby front end has been put on the old model astra's body ... and then someone's chopped off half the headlight

So has any one ever dumped a Cossie lump in a Rado??

 now THAT is what you call a sleeper! And those steel rims are great touch -
Looks good, only things I would suggest is in the oil section for example make the manufacturers name a slightly larger font and have it as a link, also it would be better if the links were a few shades lighter than the headings to make them stand out a bit more.
-
Can't be much help either I'm afraid ... just wondering how on earth the bodyshop guy manages to steer that golf??? Low speed manouvering/parking must be a pig! Actually doesn't Toffeerado have smoothed bumpers? Might be worth looking at his gallery.

VR6 fuel pump is £113.86 exc (£133.79 inc VAT) from Eurocarparts, but they're out of stock at the moment.
-
Definately the fuel pump if it starts humming as soon as you turn the ignition to position 3 and then stops when you switch off the ignition, mine's made a noticeable humming ever since I've had it and various mechanics have said it's fine. No idea about the location of the CL pump though.

the MFA is the onboard computer thing, I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure all G60's have it, basically the wiper stalk has a little button on the end you press and the computer on the dash shows stuff like the time, MPG, trip time, oil temp and outside temp.
-
Looks good, get rid of that front grill though it's disgusting :pukeright:
-
The guage on the left is the water temp, wouldn't worry about it too much if the oil temp guage on the MFA is working though, as long as the oil doesn't go much above 120 degrees it will be fine. And personally I would run it on premium fuel, 87 octane is too low, 95 and above will be fine.

The VR6 one can be found on Andi's fast purple site here

Yep Cosworth played a part in the design of the Vauxhall red-top. Personally I'd have no problem driving a corrado with a cossie engine, rather have the Audi RS6 engine in it though  -
It is nice (especially in leather), but compared to new coupe's the whole of the dash seems very early 90's ... imo
-
Unlucky! It should go all the way to the 15 gal marker, I tend not to run mine much into the red though since vw were too cheap to put in a low fuel warning light. You've probably got a dodgy sender or guage, there was a thread on here today about how to test them

one of the worst exhaust systems I've ever seen....
steve_16v replied to steve_16v's topic in General Car Chat
It should still be there tommorow, if you want I'll take my new 2MPixel phone or a digi cam (if I can get hold of one) and get some better quality pics to put on barryboys -
I'm at work, but I'm certainly not working! only an hour to go now before heading to the pub for one or ten beers!!! :drinking:

check out the camber of the rear wheel of the second honda, that thing must handle as bad as it looks! -
I sometimes smoke in mine as well, but I do wind both windows all the way down though
