Any cap-head bolt of the correct size will do - they're all* hi-tensile steel. *except those made out of aluminium, magnesium, brass... :)

Fitting OEM or pattern bushes is a specialist job as it requires A LOT of carefully applied force. Powerflex bushes are much easier to DIY, but while giving amazing longevity also transmit a lot of extra noise and vibration*. * Based on personal experience. In the event that Powerflex wish to discuss my experience and opinions on their products, they should feel free to contact me rather than the administrators of the Corrado Forum.

Whether you need longer bolts depends on the thickness of the wheel where the bolts fit. If you're worried, take the splash plate off the hub carrier and see if the bolts stick out the back of the hub or not. If not, you need 3 complete turns of thread engagement to be safe.

Lowered Bilsteins shot, can I replace with OE?
Mike Edwards replied to drunkenmunkey's topic in Drivetrain
Should have no effect on ride height as this is down to the springs (but check where the spring platforms sit on the damper body) Will feel less harsh compared to the fronts though. -
It will be trial and error - wind them all down 1" and go for a drive. Then adjust from there.

The springs on the H&Rs are a bit firm for road use. I've used Koni's on a 16v and was very happy with them, currently investigating KW V1s for the VR6.

No - it's sensible given that the shocks rotate as the steering is turned. Yes there is a bearing in the top mount (or just below on later model cars) but you don't want it binding and causing the steering to jam...

Take it to someone with an air wrench (or specialist hi-torque electric 'breaker bar') and have them shock the nut loose.

Those coilovers are much too shiny - are you not using your C??? :)

ETKA seems to suggest that it might be possible to assemble a system from a mixture of Mk2 and Mk3 Golf parts?

Rear wheel too far forward, past accident problem?
Mike Edwards replied to -Neil-'s topic in Drivetrain
In the 'raised' pictures it looks the same both sides, so while knacked rear beam bushes may be contributing, I think the problem is that it's just too low... -
Will FK Konigsports for a rado G60 FIT a rado VR6 ?
Mike Edwards replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Drivetrain
They'll fit. -
In the event that you keep your C outside, but have other means of transport in the current inclement weather (traction control and a LSD worked well, but the cars/vans blocking the road lacked these), have you noticed how good snow is at removing dirt from paintwork? I hadn't cleaned the VR6 since December and it was looking a bit grubby, but then the snow came at it's now gleaming... :D Does anyone know what type of weather is needed to clean brake dust off alloys??? :?:

Engineering supplies firms, or at a pinch B&Q (bits of Thrust SSC are held together with fasteners sourced from B&Q in Farnborough...)
-
Bups, No. Just get some Allen head bolts the right length - they're all high tensile steel, leaving yo with a choice on what type of coating you want (black, galvanised, chromed, etc)

How about a relatively stock OBD2 2.8 item?
-
Were you hoping for a 2.9 or 2.8 manifold? The latter makes more torque at lower revs, but the former looks good on a rolling road printout... :)
-
How about a perished axle beam bush that has shifted as a result of the impact? Given that the middle (rubber) part of these just about falls out when they get really tired, it's probably the path of least resistance if anything got knocked about.

Pay no more that £60 for a complete sunroof - and then only if it's in full working order. Fixing a broken one will cost from £45.

Just a chipped Shrick. AMD rollers. -
May I recommend a really big hammer??? The axle will bend - just get a big enough lever and bend it back...
-
And relax... :)
