Just to stir things a little further: 16x7 Superleggeras fitted with 205/45/16 Toyo Proxes are an amazing 2/3rds the weight of my G60s original 15x6.5 BBS RMS fitted with Pirelli P6000 205/50/15. They are the same diameter to within a couple of mm.

The coolant sensors are next to the inlet manifold in the thermostat housing. The oil snesors are on top of the filter mounting. The air intake air temperature sensor is on the rhs of the inlet manifold.

The breather valve - go to a Ford dealership and ask for the one on a Galaxy VR6. Ford sell them seperatly, while VW insist on selling you the entire intake and breather pipework. For will charge you £140...

Just take it off and clean it out with carb cleaner and kitchen towel.

If they're different diameter with the tyres on, you've got the wrong size tyres. 17" wheels tend to be heavier - partly offset by lighter tyres. But it depends on the particular wheel. OZ polaris are a LOT heavier size for size thatn OZ Superleggera for example.

Yes Steve - you sell them... :D

Perhaps a picture would help? The top mount for the rear shock comes in 2 bits. One goes between the spring plate (on the shock) and the body of the car, the other goes between the body and the stop plate (on the shock). The picture shows the one that goes between the spring plate and the body. It should look like the one on the right. If it looks like the one on the left it needed changing a long time ago...

If it turns over well enough, but take a while to actually fire, it sounds like the injectors could do with a rebuild. If the peice of plastic you refer to is fits round the wipere mounts, yes it is still listed but probably VW only. It actually comes in 3 pieces. That it's missing suggested a ham-fisted windcreen repair. As to the noise, take the under-dash tray off on the passenger side and have a look round. see if there are any grommets missing in the bulkhead.

312mm needs 7mm spacers to fit on a VR6.

My dad just bought himself a 150mph 600cc Honda. He also drives a Zafira, so there you go...

Picture please?

ADVISE ON SPEAKER CHOICE URGENTLY REQUIRED!!!
Mike Edwards replied to Blue_Joe's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Fix the car properly 1st, then sort the sounds. Otherwise you might as well be driving a Nova... -
More prosaically, the connector is a slightly different shape between the AG and CP type ECUs...

Fuel pump and/or relief relay.

The link rod costs less than £10. Fitting it is a 30 minute job.
-
All of them, or just the joints on the link rod between the crack on the motor and the rest of the mechanism?
-
Assume that you're going to have to pay for it to be rebuilt (unless there's documentation to prove that ir's been done in the last 20k miles) and regotiate the price on that basis.

The bits that break on the passat roof are the same as those on the Corrado unfortunately. Shall I post a picture of my extensive collection? :D A few other points having skimmed this thread: New cables have to be greased thoroughly before installing them or they will be very stiff; If the cable broke, the "Water Guide Plate" on which the "Locking Segment" mounts will need replacing as well - it's what caused the cable to break; The roof mechanism need regular lubrication. If anyone want more info on what breaks, why, and how to fix it - PM me.

I'd second Asims comments on the H&R coilovers, only I took mine off and fitted Koni t/a with H&R springs instead as I'm a wimp who likes a comfy ride. Currently debating whether to fit them to the G60 or sell them...

2 possiblilities to check: Waterproof membrane on the driver's door is missing/damaged; The grommet for the bonnet release cable has come out letting water in the plenum chamber in.

Corrado 1.8 16v Suspension: Is it the same as a MK2 Golf??
Mike Edwards replied to sampayne's topic in Engine Bay
It fits. The dampers for the G60 Golf and Corrado are the same - the rest are the same size, but with different damping rates. If you're fitting adjustable Koni dampers this won't be a problem. -
Well I'm no expert on this, but that you have the ££££ and are willing to spend them all is probably a good start... :D

Image 82 is the VW dealer-fit alarm brain. Image 79 is the connector for the abs brain. The fuse-relay panel looks okay - all the plugs can only be fitted in one position in the panel so it's not possible to confuse them. It just needs to be fitted back in place, but the position of the looms coming off it is more worrying though, as they're going to need re-routing - a more involved job.

ON the rears, trim the top-most segment off. On the fronts, get a set of the shorter bumpstops designed for use on the Golf with factory-fit lowered suspension.

Probably 1993 on. Is the sunroof switch a rocker switch with a button in the middle,or a weird shaped lever? Either way, plastic wedges on the drivers side and a springy metal tab on the passenger side. Depending on how loose it is at the moment, either get your fingernails under the edge of the passenger side edge and pull, or get you fingernails under the driver's side and push the whole unit towards the passenger side untill the plastic wedges dis-engage and the whole lot drops out. Neither approach is what you'd call comfortable, but it doesn't do any damage to the car....
