  1. And it would foul the MAS how - it joins the intake downstream? A coating of engine oil is one of the things that my collection of dysfunctional MAS are notable for not having*... :D An oil-soaked K&N panel filter on the otherhand will coat the MAS in oil. * And no - it's not due to the "self clean" function of the MAS on shut-down as this only applies to the filament. The whole assembly is oil free...
  2. My point would be why you would want to blow oil all over the rear of the engine bay and exhaust manifold? Even with a hose run under the car, I'm still not clear on why you'd want to drip oil. Maybe if it's not your driveway...
  3. Thermostat problem at a guess.
  4. The engine breather should connect straight into the intake pipe just before the throttlebody?
  5. If sir would care to step this way, I have a very high mileage but very well maintained (with documentation to prove it) Black VR6. Yours for £2750.
  6. 38mm pulley = ~300 miles between rebuilds. Maybe if he tried a 68mm pulley? :D
  7. errmm.... but audioscape have always done them in early (no window switch hole) and late (with window swich hole)? Or at least, they have for the last few years...
  8. If you're going to be in Guildford, Andy Bryant (former Corrado VR6 owner, Mk2 Golf GTi nut) is your man. Sigma and Cobra fitted. Call 01483 301500.
  9. Swap you a set of Polished TT Competitions with new Pirelli P7000 tyres? :D
  10. 2nd and 4th? Sunds like only the cable closest to the wing (which is operated by moving the gearstick forwards and back) might need adjustment as from the descriptionyou are not getting quite enough travel to get into gear.. Alternatively, how old is the gearbox mount?
  11. The foam blocks can be obtained from VW.
  12. Ummm... On coilovers the sprng-rate doesn't alter as you change the ride height, while the damping should be close to constant throughout the travel of the unit. If the ride gets harder when you lower it lots it's because the coilovers are on the bumpstops...
  13. Buy a VR6. The all you have to do is bolt on a 288mm brake set up from a Mk3 or 4....
  14. That should do it. Not sure about 191 512 333 though.
  15. Which caliper has the siezed nipple? I'm planning to upgrade mine shortly to Mk3/4, so will have some going spare...
  16. The seals don't appreciate non-VW fluid. Maybe if you sell it before the rack or pump start to fail?
  17. Well, if they're decent springs, you should just bounce all over the road...
  18. Maybe I could get the G60 tested? :D
  19. There was a Mk2 Golf at Inters with an R32 engine in it. The mounts appeared to be Vibratechnics items. What these actually bolted to on the engine was less clear, but the bonnet is the only thing that might stop you from slotting one in the C...
  20. Thw Leon kit has been fitted to a VR6, but you need spacers between the caliper carriers and the front uprights. AMD will charge you £30 for a set of the spacers (which also work with the 312mm VAG items...)
  21. Agreed. Mind you, pretty much any model Corrado costing only £2k is going to be a "project".
  22. Try doing a search on the Forum - the problem you're describing has been discussed in detail a number of time before. The repair is a little more involved than it looks...
  23. Does the lever not move between neutral/3rd easily then? If no. then it is possible to reach the state described on the US Corrado site by just adjusting the cable closest to the engine. If this is still not possible, put the cable at the middle of it's adjustment and try slackening off the 13mm bolts on the shifter itself to get the desired effect. Having achieved this, additional adjustment of the cable on the gearbox should get the change as good as it will get. BTW, does anyone else wonder what the guy on the US site was doing in his C to move the lever out of alignment? They are pretty firmly bolted in position...
