Plus, if you're lowering it enough for this to be an issue you already destroyed one of it's USPs - the handling. Still each to their own. :)

Moving on, 7 years of Corrado ownership coming to an end....

I didn't. Oh - damn - BMW owns Mini...:) -
The front sensor is the cheapest thing to replace. Offer to pay for its replacement as a condition of the sale.

If it is the ISV, the reason it's cutting out is because it isn't working. So disconnecting it should give exactly the same symptoms. MAFs tend to mess up the fuelling when they go wrong, so it it's just cutting at junctions go with that first. Might be worth checking the wiring to the ISV while you're there. ---------- Post added at 06:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:27 PM ---------- Quick paranoia moment: When you say you cleaned it, did it move freely with no more than light pressure from a fingernail afterwards? If it didn't, either it's still jammed up with crud, or the drive mechanism has broken.

The 2.8 OBD1 makes less power than the 2.9 mostly due to the manifold. The manifold does give more torque at lower revs through, making for a nicer drive even if you can't 'win' rolling road days.

If the problem clears itself if you switch everything off and then back on again, I would suspect the pedal position sensor. Easy to replace, but not cheap so it's worth getting the fault code read.

How to fit / wire / install obd2
Mike Edwards replied to C488ADO's topic in [Archive] Wiki Submissions & Collaboration
Wow. Comprehensive! Things to note having fiddled around with this on one of the VRs: - The restriction on the OBD2 manifold is fundamentally the same as that on the 2.8 OBD1 - the shape of the intake rather than the size. You get more torque at lower RPM though, so unless you spend your entire time at full throttle and high rpm it's not exactly a disadvantage (you will lose at rolling road days though). - If you have a very late model VR you shouldn't need to change the loom to the ECU as the plug is the same. - It's possible to fit the OBD2 manifold, throttle body and engine loom without any of the other bits and it runs fine. The larger bore of the throttle body coupled with the manifold is noticeable, and has the advantage that there's no idle stabilisation valve to coke up. -
Coked up idle stabilisation valve. Fixable using car cleaner and cotton buds, you just have to get the thing off first.

The plates you mention are the front sub-frame. The only time i changed the ARB bushes on a C it was with the sub-frame off the car.

M437 CLC and H432 TVV Where Are You???
Mike Edwards replied to Mike Edwards's topic in General Car Chat
Scrapped? Bummer. Any idea why? (the bits on it were probably worth more than the complete car regardless of condition I suppose?) -
Just out of curiosity... :)

Ah - "industrial accident"... :)
-
Was that with the cattleprod, or the shotgun???
-
The manual also says the ABS relay and fuse are there, but they're not...
-
For the electric windows??? :confused4:

A "lint-free" cloth...

Vanish Carpet and Upholstery Mousse - and a flannel (or microfibre cloth from Halfords).

Test driven a couple now. Goes, stops, rides and corners nicely (particularly the cornering part), while being quiet and comfortable. A-pillars are huge though, and the Sports setting on the suspension appears to just makes the ride jiggly without any other discernible changes at legal speeds. Maybe I've just got used to how 'involving' the Mini is, but all in all it seems a bit too well rounded.

But... it's GREEN??? Currently waiting to see who cracks 1st: me (with willingness to buy), or Sales Director (with NEED to sell). Yes folks: now is the time to make LUDICROUS offers (they didn't say no outright)...

I've driven a couple now. Fun engines, cr*p otherwise. Buy a Corvette...
-
I'll start speccing one I think... :)
-
Has anyone actually bought one yet? Listers were doing a TDi for £1k down and £400/month for 3 years today. With the current lack of sales, it'll be interesting to see how much better the deals get in the next couple of months...

Yes, the shiny thing is the bit that attaches the cable to the rest of the mechanism. You'll probably only need the cable and the 'water guide plate' to fix it, but budgeting for the rest can't hurt.
