  1. Think Maplins do a solar power one that you stick in the window and plug into your cigarete lighter :?
  2. Didn't know that mate but i didn't get any details from him so would struggle to give much info really :(
  3. Well got home from work Saturday eve and packed ready to go over to Jude's uncles in crewe for his 50th so had a bit of an epic trip planned as the weather was awfull. Anyway was jus going up the dual carriageway 1 mile from home (which is unlit) and just geared down to third to negotiate the upcoming round about Speed around 40MPH then i see a guy run across in front of us 30 or 40 yards ahead and jumps into the central reservation so i'm watching him like a hawk then bang a huge thump and i thought i'd hit a bloody kerbstone in the road it made such a noise. Jude shouted it was a dog, so i turned around at the roundabout and pulled up. walked back to the guy who's there hugging his dog which was still alive but didn't look too good to be honest. We offered him a lift to the vets as it was only 5 ish and he refused point blank, we offered him a lift home too but he wasn't bothered either as he only lived 1/4 a mile away. I couldn't really understand what was wrong with him to be honest as he seemed an ok chap but obviously a bit scruffy looking and so was his dog. He said it had happened to his dog before as his back legs aren't very good so i though why the hell is he running across an unlit dual carriageway without a lead on it if its not good on its feet anyway, which for the record has wasteland all around it so no one lives near it, but then he also had a sledge hammer with him so i didn't really feel like i wanted to hang around anymore. So we walked back and carried on our trip. I feel really sad about his dog as i'm sure it'll die but mostly i feel utter anger with this guy for causing it in the first place. I really couldn't believe it when he said his dog wasn't well to start with but yet he's prepared to run across a dark 4 lanes of traffic just letting it follow him slowly limping behind him. Jude isn't feeling too happy about it either and is having flashbacks about it all the time not to mention her car looking a bit of a state too! but that'll patch up i hope with a few tweeks. :(

Ooh that a bugger Laura but as you say at least you know it'll only get better :? wil keep an eye out on this thread as i may have a go with mine soon too
  5. No problem, I still haven't checked my VR yet but its something I MUST do in spring time for certain. Will have to look for the hole Tom's on about too
  6. Yes mate, so if the inside panel was removed you will need to stick a camera down into the sill to see it as you cant get your head through the hole  if you know what i mean. Hope that helps a bit.
  7. Here you go chaps! this may be of help. :salute: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=66142&hilit=+check
  8. Always happy to recieve a compliment sir :notworthy: I got the idea from seeing a new audi in my local dealers and they were obviously painted from the factory then i thought Hmmm Must do that to mine 8) After a bit of reserching i decided to use plastikote as it would give the desired smooth almost metalic finish but is also heat resistant so gave it a try and it has been superb if i'm honest, even when they are hot the paint isn't soft or anything (tried this by poking it screw driver  )
  9. As Gareth says buddy, just a scrub with a good degreaser and scotch cloth will do a good job. I do love the look of mine though as its bare alloy & (not painted as some may think) which is how it would look from the factory!
  10. These guys can do it for you, this is actually my manifold in the pic. The top one that is 8) http://www.dgautotech.com/dgauto/index. ... &Itemid=84 Looks amazing in situ too.
  11. quality, had to drag my rear wheels for a bit this morning too as my other half pulled on my handbrake too much so it locked them solid over 2 days :( took me 25 mins to get 15 meters :bad-words: wasn't happy then went down a hill with some serious sideways action on every bend. That was quite fun though as i was free wheeling very slowly so was nice and gentle.
  12. The mating surfaces for stub axle was actually coated too then graham took a disc to it to burn it off :notworthy: the old bush outer sleeves were left in place then i cut them out afterwards! glad i did now as it is very tough as graham will confirm lol! sorry fella. They gave the axle a good blast all over too so the finish is pretty impressive even on the inside hidden bits. 8)
  13. Thought Kip had the infleunce of that! Thought you had been looking under my White Scirocco. Thats how I held the back axle beam together with tie wraps!!!! :norty: :norty: . Yeah but she always asks me what would Chris think? Very funny! Pete, the axle was sand blasted then Nylon coated which is far tougher than powder coating. The cost to get the beam done was £40  An absolute bargain if i may say so  It was done by a company called batchglow in dinnington south yorkshire.
