  1. In all fairness we really didnt think it would be so hard to remove so a lesson learnt there, i did leave the old outer sleeve in for the bushes though so they were easy to remove via cutting (etc) Not really sure if masking would work though due to the heat generated when applying the finish so probably best to leave some old bolts or nuts in the threads as you suggest.
  2. Nylon has better protective properties than powder coating as you can actually hit it with a hammer and it just bounces off  dont think powder coating is quite so tough.
  3. You are probably missing the 2 white plastic clips that hold it in place mate, one acts like a hook holding the bottom right hand corner as you look at it and the other is like a fork that actually clips around the circular tab on the fusebox and then when this is hooked into possition it swivels upwards to clip into the fusebox carrier bracket.
  4. How about a stainless steel one  Yes indeed had a chat with dave at coventry about that. But mine has broke at the lever end, like a flat speed nut type thing that hooks onto the lever assembly. Now that'd be good to have too! Hint hint lol!
  5. Bonnet release cable (or should that be the poxy clip at the end of it :bad-words: )
  6. Some info Here! viewtopic.php?f=11&t=50867&hilit=jimmi
  7. I'd be pretty sceptical of something that costs just £8 though, i just cant see that being upto much when i think about it. The guys at DG have got to deal with the aftercare of fitting these chips should something be not quite right where as the ebay seller probably wont do anything and just tell you they have sold 27'000 of them and no one else has had a problem. :) Also for me I wouldn't dare go near the ECU or anything like that as i'm not that mechanically minded so for me to deal with a company like DG whom i trust immensley has to be a major bonus. They were the only ones i trusted to do my clutch/chainns/engine refurb and their attention to detail was phenomenal. i'm sure many other owners now have the same confidence in the company that i have.
  8. Aye with a polished rim Gateth i would agree but otherwise you cant see the bloody things so may as well be a solid lump of alloy if they are completely black  To me the wheels are a major piece of eye candy on a Corrado and black just dont seem to cut it but like i said i'm old! and like my C's on stilts
  9. Just a general question chaps but will this effect economy much? thought it may be usefull to know but i will still be having one when the VR love returns :| Would like to keep my existing ECU as it is though so will speak about costs soon.
  10. Here's my latest purchase on standard BBS 8)
  11. Indeed black wheels look stupid but hey i'm old and allowed to be uncool
  12. Yep hacksaw between the metal tap and the plastic for me
  13. Yes sounds familiar. Either drill the bolt or use a junior hacksaw to cut it in two. Awkward but do able as i've done it a few times.
  14. Nope its all in the detail buddy  will keep my eye out for a dipstick. Has Neil on here got one???? in breaking section.
  15. Tut Tut, Come on Andy thats poor form on a part like this  Glad its sorted though matey, lets see a pic with the new leads on then 8)
  16. Bloody hell i've got a headache
  17. Lol! seemed like a good idea at the time! Rattle now sorted though as it was the 2 10mm nuts that go through into the wiper scuttle area that had worked loose, 5 mins job to fix after several hours trying to locate it
  18. Had a busy couple of weeks recently and while the VR is sat in the Garage feeling a little unloved and uncosseted due to some issues with it  i've had other things to do too, Had some new tyres on the Nugget so went for continental premium contact as i like continental tyres and i have them on the VR but they are sport contact. Also refurbed the brakes as they were shockingly worn so new discs & pads all round gave them a few coats of plastikote paint as this protects them from going rusty it looks a bit extreme painting the braking surface but this scrapes of within a couple of miles and the brakes are spot on after a few days use, and then I bled the system too as i reckon that the fluid hadn't been changed in ten years it was that dirty  I will fit some new hoses when they have bedded in nicely and im sure everything is working nice and freely then i'll also clean up the calipers and carriers and get those painted up too, i think i'll also get the rear splash guards fixed up a they are in reasonable shape but just have some surface corrosion and it'll be nice to keep the original ones on. And also yesterday i treated it to a new expansion tank and fresh coolannt G12 after a good flush through and is so far all nice and pink  And i've had an electrical problem with the 8v so i bit the bullet and called an Auto electrician out, he traced it to the relay that runs the ECU so a few blobs of solder and jobs a good un which is just as well as it's been so frustrating not starting then cutting out while driving too :bad-words: was thinking of taking the bloody thing to bits it was so bad, just hope that it has been cured long term though so finges crossed.
  19. No Kidding mate, this was just like that so before it was fitted I had it Nylon coated before fitting. Bit annoyed that they come with no packaging whatsoever then other things come overly packaged  Was cheap to get done anyway  and will probably keep looking better for longer than the standard paint that they come with.
  20. :luvlove:  Sorry
  21. The Guy who pulls up on the bend is just as Sheeeeite, winds me right up the inadequate mother feckers! :mad2:
  22. Hi Matey, I like to use Gliptone Cleaner and Leather conditioner and find ebay the best place for this, on the carpets i like to use Auto Glym interior cleaner which works wonders on the headlining too  Keep us posted
