  1. Although thinking about it it is probably just as fiddley to remove all the plugs (etc) from the area around the fuse box, and there is the added risk of accidentally unclipping a few wires without knowing about it i guess :? I think i'll still look at the fuse tray removel option though as it is probably a bit easier

Some sebrings here too viewtopic.php?f=13&t=95064
  3. Ah really, will be looking for them in future  Does the passenger side stop near the door too then or does it feed through behind the dash to the fuse box area?
  4. Looking good fay 8) there's a blackberry bonnet on ebay at the moment £65 start, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Corrado-Late-Blac ... 335f59abe4 Reason i mention is that he is selling a few other bits i asked about so i'll be going to collect them next weds so if you are interested see if you can win the bonnet and i could at least collect and save it here till we sort something out. Of course only if you interested
  5. Hi Andrew, No connectors near the hinge i'm afraid so its door cards off then unplug all the wires at their clips then feed them through into the holes near the hinges, not a hard job but damn fiddley to get them back in in the correct place. Worth making a note or taking a photo of which line the cables/wires take for re installation. Took me about 40 mins each to remove and a bit more to put back! trick is to give yourself loads of time rather than an hour

 Nice work Laura. always dread the MOT with my 8v but touch wood it flew through recently  the VR though is never a problem 12 mot passes on the trot now
  7. Ah right, done 4 late cars and they all had the mastic in the middle, maybe early ones have tape? unless some folk will have a car that has had the trim removed beforehand which would be a bonus i guess if it hasn't been stuck back again with mastic  Then these are as you say the wrong gaskets anyway for early cars. :)
  8. Jim, yes but only at the very back, the worst bit of the job is removing the rear roof trim that is bonded to the car body in the middle of the trim with mastic. Carefully poke it and cut it with a sharp blade first then it'll pull free with ease. then one removed the rear of the headlining can be dropped down just enough to get your hands in with a 22mm? spanner to remove the base and hey presto  Worst bit is removing the trim after that its 15 mins including a bit of a polish to the roof once the ariel is removed  A tip when you are trying to re-thread the nut back on after you have fitted the new gasket is to get someone to push the ariel back to the body or gently pull in the cable till you get the nut threaded back on
  9. I believe theres something in motor cycle gear shops for this as a friend if mine did it to his a while back, more like a paint stick if i remember right! :?
  10. Nope! I had the mirrors
  11. hope you're not twins too! now that'd be freaky
  12. Dont tell me they're both called james too
  13. i thought James is the one i was thinking of, is there 2 on here then????
  14. Ah interesting, least its doable then but maybe not with a golf section :? not a bad price either but i guess fitting & finishing it would cost a small fortune.
  15. I guess like anything the price would have to be right but if it fixed the job and stopped my car rusting to bits then i'd happily buy one even if cost wasn't nessesarily cheap as it has to be cheaper getting it done as opposed to it rotting away after all the work and money folk spend on their Corrados :?
  16. I'd buy one for my 8v  if it was a good job obviously.
  17. cheers, i seemed to spend quite some time and money on german ebay a few years back  will have to get the yellow mini champs one too when its out now i have a real one too
  18. Cheers matey although it'll be years before it looks anything like the one on the ramps  but really pleased with it so far. Got a cambelt kit for it from the dealers recently so will get that fitted soon as i really dont like messing with that kinda thing, have all the tools to do it and i probably have the skills too but just dont wanna risk getting it wrong :brickwall: then hopefully a little brake refurb inc discs pads all round and rear bearings along with some new flexi hoses :norty: when funds allow that is
  19. Hmm never know what to think about de cats as dont you have to have it refitted for the MOT? cound'nt be bothered with the hassle for the sake of a few ponys. :?
  20. Jack it up young man!
