That doesnt sound unfair at all. Yeah ive seen people doing it beat up cars and agree its either laziness or simply cannot park. -

Thats so annoying, bloody bar stewards :mad2:[/quote:pr5tgg7y] I know mate! :( This is why i park over 2 spaces normally. But i know some people dont like others doing this. But i always say i'll continue to do it until people learn how to park, or not knock doors on other peoples cars etc.. which we all know will never happen -
That had me chuckling
-
Yeah that will be my next move if i cant get my money back... want to buy it rob? :norty:
-
Personally i would be offended, but not to take it too seriously :D A 400 mile round trip isnt bad at all and i wouldnt hesitate to drive it in my corrado. I say prove the wrong (or right :? ) by taking the rado.

lol: sorry for the confusion. Which was due to the pump being VDO but the 'lid' being piersburg. :cuckoo: I can order the other one now.
-
haha right i get it.... so the pump is a VDO but the lid where the pipes go are a Piersburg one. DAMN IT!!! £117!!! Yeah i owe you a drink at least! haha! I hope it can be return, my garage ordered it a while ago and he's had it sat waiting for me to pick it up and pay for it. :( Cheers Rob and thanks for the part no. Gaz
-
Cheers for the reply Rob. But im confused now  .... If mine is a piersburg sender and pump, but my current sender looks exactly like the on RW1 posted and has the wires clipping on top of the sender just like RW1s how can it be correct? EDIT - sorry what i meant to say is, my pump and current sender look identical to RW1s bar the pipes are different and RW1s is a VDO pump and sender.. so shouldnt my new sender have the clips ontop?

Found a nice present had been left for me this morning. A nice scrape along the NS corner of the rear bumper :bad-words: Dunno how long its been there, but it must have happened in the last week as i washed the car last weekend and there was no scrape. Cowardly b@stards clearly didnt want to leave a note or anything. Makes me so mad. Luckily (i think) its not so bad that a bit of touch up paint wont cover it up, but thats not the point! GRRR! :censored: -
Ah... reading a few older pages from on here, the Piersburg senders are no longer available?
-
RIght ive taken another look at the sender - still attached to the pump which was still in the tank. It is black with 2 wires connected on top just like RW1's above. The pump is a Piersburg, RW is yours also a piersburg - i assume it is. However the new sender i have is blue with the metal adjuster screw and it also in a different position to the one shown above. Plus theres no way to attach the connectors on top, again as on the above one. Is it the VDO sender that i need for the Piersburg pump, as my mechanic assured me this was the correct one, but theres no name on it. It has part number 535 919 673 B See pics. (apologies for the rubbish quality).

May just need adjusting mate, Take out the handbrake tunnel between the seats, theres some adjuster screws - one for each side
-
cardboard between the jack or axle stands and the underside of the car works a treat! :D
-
11 for HC!!!! i thought 17 was low on mine. So did your car fail the MOT mate? :( what for?
-
The sender still works as the gauge does still work. But the gauge is just erractic, also last time i filled the car right up (which hasnt been for a while  ) i filled it to the first click of the pump to indicate tank full, but the gauge didnt go all the way to the top. I remember working out the tank was according to the gauge was about a litre short of max. Also when i fill up to half tank the needle doesnt stay on half tank very long, but drops to 2/8ths full quite quick.
-
Yeah, we realised that, not sure why they did 2 different ones  Ive got a Pierburg pump and its should be the correct sender. Which cost £117  But was still cheaper the replacing the pump and getting the cheaper sender.
-
 cheers fella :salute: The screw just looks different on the new sender i have its just a copper screw and is at an angle. I'll give this another go... :?
-
Cheers RW1 thats much appreciated The new sender ive got looks slightly different to the one on the sender. The adjuster screw is on the sender, though on that pic it looks like its on the pump, or am i mistaken?

Well Thursday, i changed the front top mounts and bearings and comparing the old with the new, the old were well and truely worn. I also gave it its 20k oil change :D its purring like a kitten and is the running of the engine is noticably smoother and more eager to go. Not that it was running bad before the oil change but its amazing what nice fresh oil can do. :D Yesterday it went in for its MOT (as per other thread, maybe i should have put MOT stuff in here to begin with), but it did PASS with no problems at all, no advisors either which im over the moon about. Results of the emissions test is also very pleasing No advisors either Check these emission figures out - CO % max = 0.30 car = 0.22 HC ppm max = 200 car = 17 idle CO % max = 0.50 car = 0.06 I got a new 50mm spliter for it as the 90mm was cracked to hell after getting battered from speedbumps :( Also a new wiper arm linkage (from motor to drivers wiper arm) just incase the current one pops off again like it did when it was raining :? I keep string in the car now just in case and as hope that i have a passenger if it breaks again  My next job is to change the fuel gauge sender to see if it makes the gauge more accurate then it is. I did attempt it yesterday but bottled it, as to be frank messing around with things surrounded by fuel and fuel vapour scared the hell out of me, i will give it another go then Can anyone confirm that the fuel pump just unscrews from the bottom of the tank? As thats has far as i got and couldnt see how it was fixed to the tank thus wasnt sure how to get the thing out. -

Still got my old Koni damper Eibach spring combo. Doing my head in now though LOL Yeah ive read various times that the Eibach springs are some what stiff :? -
Anyone? Could do with some advice :D

The one and only thing that will stop me getting leather and thats the hot weather. It is hot and if youre on the move its not that bad at all. But yeah in traffic the heat is a b!tch  Other then that, id much rather have the window down in the hot weather rather then been kooked up with the windows all closed so the aircon can work :D
-
Can anyone give me instructions as to how to remove and refit the fuel pump so i can change the sender? Please I gave it a shot this afternoon but bottled it and put it back together again. I got as far as removing the 2 rubber fuel pipes on top and unscrewing the top and lifting the top of the fuel pump. I could see the pump sat in the tank but with fuel being in the tank (gauge was almost on red) i bottled it. If i get as far as i did before can i just lift the pump out of the tank and how do i know what position the pump needs to go back in? Is it clipped to the bottom of the tank to hold it in place? Also the send on the pump appears to have wires going into it but the new one doesnt look like any electrical connections actually attach to it??? Any help really appreciated Cheers all. Gaz

Congrats to you too mate. :D Yeah get the results up. Would be good to have a comparison.
