  1. Think its even less likely to work with windows 7.... its the new OS with older software that can be a problem. Not sure about the clicking from behind the dash though.
  2. Nope, should only have to be installed the once. What version are you using? It maybe worth trying a different version. I run it on XP so not sure what it runs like on Vista.. if at all.
  3. @ bristolbaron. I wouldnt have gone home to be honest as they now know where its parked on a night. I'd have driven round until i lost them, then gone home. Take the steering wheel off or the wheels off. Make sure it doesnt go anywhere. If you pull the fuel pump relay it can still be towed away. - not wanting to put the frighteners into you btw. :D Good luck tonight... let us know if you have any findings :D :D :D We could ALL turn up at this pub and really freak him out?
  4. Good stuff. Sounds like the ball is rolling to get this sorted. :D Keep us updated mate! :D
  5. Another garage nightmare :( Sorry to hear this Si. I think it will be another case for contacting Trading Standards. You should have a case if the car was driveable to the garage but not after. How can they deny liability, a broken driveshaft would mean you cant drive the car, so you wouldnt have got to the garage if it had been broken before. So it HAD to have been done whilst in their hands. By the way id always advise going along with them if you let anyone else drive your car. Good luck fella.
  6. Sounds like a nightmare mate. Maybe worth filing a complaint with trading standards, as they're charging for work they've not done.
  7. I thought H&R springs were purple??? Going by the Koni shocks and H&R springs i bought from here.
  8. Do the big bore TBs work on their own ie do any other mods need doing to allow the throttle body to perform?
  9. Not sure mate, bear in mind the coil pack will be under more load at higher revs. If the MAF was fooked it would run sh!t all the time.
  10. Well your timing and compression appear good. I would say that your MAF appears to be working if the car dies when its unplugged. Try plugs first if you say they are knackered, thats a cheap thing to replace. I think only early VRs stall when the MAF is unplugged, but it would still run like a bag of sh!te. Though i would expect a dodgy MAF to show up on vagcom. It could be the leads or coil pack.
  11. i know , KW is very good. But like to know also witch other coils have a good feedback in the corrado. FK highsport for example some guys says that are not very good in the corrado. I have had ones in my golf 4 and had liked them[/quote:334hbfpc] I've heard that the FK highsports are a little hard and a prone to the spring seats seizing due to corrosion. But thats only what i've read, ive never owned them. There's plenty of info in here http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... d#p1080982 - read away :D
  12. I like that pic henny :D :thumbleft: Is that a Rieger front bumper? Makes the front of the car look out of propertion compared to the back. :(
  13. I find that odd. I've never been ask for specifications when getting the geometry set up. If its pulling to one side then something is out, regardless of any specifications. Getting the equipment on the car would show immediately whats not aligned correctly. Simong - I havent managed to speak to the bloke i said i would yet, as he wasnt in today and he doesnt work saturdays, so i'll give him a bell next week.. if its not too late by then :D
  14. stay away from V-maxx in my opinion, better off with the original suspension.. even if its broken  The Weitec are a good, cheapER setup. Many folks would recommend them for the cash. KWs all the way for me though if money allows.

The tool to remove the plastic covers should be in the tool kit in the boot, with the jack etc :D i do say SHOULD though.
  16. ^^^ I'll check the bearings then and i'll post a vid up with my rocking the back end :norty: I dont know id there's too much movement or not  I think not, but i'll let you experts take a gander :D Oh and Kev, keep the stories of your adventures on other forums coming. :D
  17. I gave the car a shake yesterday and there was movement but nothing like 3CMs rado in the video. Could they still be knackered. I'll check the wheel bearings too as they were replaced end of last year but i never checked them again after that. Though... I could be chasing a red herring hear..
  18. Cheers guys, appreciate the comments. :D The only issue i can see there being is the brake compensator as mentioned as everything else has been off the car at some point. Saying that... i gave the car a rock today and it didnt feel nor look like anything was wrong, certainly not like in the vid posted previous. Sorry Stuart i think i misunderstood what you meant regarding the tyre tread. When i first got the tyres fitted (fronts were new at the same time but a cheaper brand), the car felt like it was on ice. I was gripping the steering wheel really hard  It felt like the car was going sideways round the bends and even though its settled down alot more now, since the tyres have bedded in. It could be that the rears are taking that little bit longer to bed in, though that was over a month ago.. :?
  19. I'll check the nuts on the mounts are tight, but im pretty confident they'll be fine. There's no other knocking or anything. Yeah just noticed it in the last month.. well not before i got the tyres fitted. Can the large amount of tread on the tyres give this feeling? I'll give them rocking test a go today. How many hours would it take a competent garage to remove the axle change bushes and replace? also how much are new OEM bushes? Cheers Stuart!
  20. I can ask if you like. Though i cant imagine them going on book figures cos when your car is lowered the figures must go out of the window???
  21. damn you  Been raining since sunday here :(
  22. Cheers mate. I'll give the car a shake tomorrow when i have the day off. :D
  23. Cheers Colin, i'll give it a go. When you say rock the rear wheels should i just push each wheel whilst car is sat on the ground and see if it moves?
  24. Fingers crossed the weather improves for you matey :norty: :)
