wow has it been 2 years since this thread. I was on the brink of ordering until it was realised that the wrap that i wanted, which consisted of 2 seperate layers, it wouldnt go round the manifold easily. So i decided to not get it, however i was still willing to order... though no one else wanted any either.

Thats one nice Corrado. Hats off to you ol' boy! :D How did you get the shot of the bottom pic? -
"Abscence makes the heart grow fonder" is what they say. :D Great to hear you've still got the love for the rado and glad you're still going to keep it.

Thermostat is about 6 weeks old and is a a VAG item. I'm not concerned at all about water temps, it bothers me that the oil temps have dropped by about 4-6 degs across all running conditions. I wouldnt worry about it, could be down to the cooling system working better or the weather being different.
-
Its unlikely the gauge is at fault. I'd try a new thermostat as this can cause the symptom you describe - water temp taking a while to get up. Also can cause over cooling as the thermostat is constantly open, but 85 on the water isnt that bad.

get out and shut the door behind you!![/quote:23zgs8q8]

I like the pun "Don`t know if I have put this in the right section, if nut please feel free to move MODS" Halfords do Mcguards but as ive said before I tried 3 different types they said were for the Corrado an none fit - but then it is Halfords and they could have had them logged incorrectly OR simply cos it was a chav at the counter.

Yeah easypeasy to do mate. Get the part from the dealer! Its simple to do. Take the wheel off and you should see the sensor in the inside of the hub. Theres a wire going to it so not hard to see. Its just help in by a small allen head screw. Once the screw is out, the sensor can still be a bugger to get out due to rust. Try prise it out by getting a flat head screw driver between the hub and the sensor. Once out a bit of emery paper to clean out the hole the sensor sits in. Then just place the sensor back in (may need a little persuassion) Then replace screw and plug back in.

Looks nice. I've also been a fan of the Audi estates. Though id agree, its a tad low, you gonna leave it that low or raise it a little? -
Shall I organise a Corrado Meet ??  I reckon this could easily be done - all meet at a really large petrol station. Organise it so we are all refuelling together. All drive off together. Several hits like this around the country would have an impact !! And - get us noticed, nicked, and pulled up by the cops at every opportunity afterwards. !!! Thats not such a bad idea to be honest  If you spread the word to other car forums too, we could allsorts of marks and forums doing it round the country! :D

They look so nice mate! Cant wait to see them on the car either :D

Gaz's Bordeaux Pearl VR NEW WHEELS!
Critical_Mass replied to Critical_Mass's topic in Members Gallery
Only a small update, but an update all the same. Removed the tatty, cracked 90mm spoiler for a brand new 50mm spoiler. Looks good, though i did like the low aggressive look the 90mm spoiler gave the car from the front, but i wont miss it catching speedbumps. Also stupidly, even more stupid considering the above scrape i was complaining about. Today i scuffed the OSR arch which required some t-cutting and a few bits touching up :( im really not happy with myself for doing this :mad2: Also i need some help. Ever since i bought the car the front drivers side corner of the bumper appears to have 'dropped' a little (you may be able to tell on the pic). The bumper can be moved up and down a little (not loads though) and you can tell its just not sat right against the arch. I first thought one of the round plastic part of the bracket that slides into the grooves on the inside of the bumper had broken, but when i was fitting the splitter today i took a look on the inside of the bumper from underneath - The bracket that the bumper slides onto appears to be intact  Anything else that could be causing it not to be sat correctly and able to be moved a little? -
The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

replaced the tatty 90mm spoiler with a brand spanking new 50mm one. Looks good! 8) Also scuffed the rear arch backing out of the drive! DOH! had to t-cut and touch it up :( -
It could well be the cables. Worth checking they're still attached by getting the fan speed/direction controls out. Also check the cables are still attached behind the dash.

Very true and no doubt once ive done it i'll think - hey it wasnt that bad! But with it being a daily, if i cant manage to say get the pump back in i could be left with no transport.[/quote:2n4d2xnp] you wont have a problem getting the pump back in, have some faith! as long as you arent a complete numpty with spanners and following instructions, its easy peasy. if you want i will send you my number in case you get in a pickle[/quote:2n4d2xnp] aye send one over mate, just in case.

Headlight switch and loom fires.....DIY prevention

Like anything with a fuse, when the fuse blows due to a short, the circuit is broken and the switch will stop working. :D -

Simples, just drop in the tank, it'll sit down in the rough orientation it came out, locate in the bottom, then twist clockwise. Paint will dry faster than this one  Have confidence. Like I wrote earlier, you did the hard part getting that locking collar off the top of the tank. . Cheers dude. :D
-
Aye i'll see how i get on, once i can get another sender... as you know ive just spent £117 ON THE WRONG ONE! DOH! Its not removing the pump that bothers me its been able to relocate where it sits in the tank.
-
Course mate, feel free to add.. So how did it go.....?
-
Cheers for the offer Rob but id rather replace it with a new one so i dont have to do it again... well not for a very long time anyway. :D If you could check the spare pump you have i would appreciate it. Cheers
-
nah I'm good thanks!just replaced all mine with vdo stuff![/quote:3vt49t7j] No problem, i was jesting anyway.. well partly  Im going to ask you anothe question now. Can the sender be removed and refitted without taking the pump out of the tank?
