  1. No idea. As long as it stops catching im happy :D
  2. Supercharged you were right its the rotor. I peered into the holes and there are marks on the rotor from the bolts... though not all the bolts have been marking. Also its only happening with one of the holes, regardless of which bolts goes in that hole. So i put the shorter locking wheel nut in that hole and no more problem. This would explain why sometimes its ok and other times its not. It depends which hole i put the locking nut in - for some strange reason :
  3. Cheers SC. I'm going to take a look today and ill start by measuring the bolts. Doesnt the rotor go around with the bolts though as the wheel is in motion. The clonking sounds like something going around is clipping something that is stationary.
  4. After fitting aftermarket wheels I decided to fit longer wheels bolts too, which are about 13mm longer then the standard bolts. All was fine until recently when i took the NSF wheel off for whatever reason, when i fitted the wheels again, something now clicks as the wheel goes round. I removed the wheel and refitted it, the clicking seemed to stop. Today the car went in for the geometry setting up and 2 new front tyres. Now the clicking started again on the NSF wheel :confused4: Its only doing it on one wheel and only when the longer bolts are fitted. So obviously the bolts are catching.... but on what? The only thing i can think of is the ABS sensor. Any other ideas??
  5. Me too and sometimes i go the long way just so i can drive it that little bit longer  .... possibly a sad thing to do.
  6. Oh sorry, dunno how i missed that you'd done that. I would have thought that would have fixed it... that solved the issue with me. Though i wasnt using version 409.1, i used 308.11 (id have to double check that).
  7. I love how the supersprint sounds at idle, it burbles nicely - the same with the slight popping on overrun :D 8)
  8. I need a new FK grille, the one i have has now got broken tabs. Im going to source a brushed rear VR6 badge and put it on the grille.
  9. Is it only 650mm long, thought it was longer then that, even after cutting it down to fit.
  10. Well, at the moment I have no reason to, but the engine is breathing heavy according to my mechanic, so it's not going to last forever unless I get it rebuilt with new piston rings etc. The charger was rebuilt this year so that's fine, interior is sorted, and there's just a couple of tiny bits of rust on the exterior and other than that it's running really well. Well, there's the battery drain problem but that's another story. Basically I've spent at least £1500 getting the car totally fettled, and I'm determined just to enjoy it now. I really believe it's one of the best examples of a G60 out there, it's that sorted. But! It took me about 8 months to find it, because I'm one of those kind of dudes who likes to do a LOT of research before spending big wodges of cash. Most of those 8 months were lurking on this forum, reading tons of reviews and technical articles etc. and only then did I go out test driving. The way I see it, if the C was to die tomorrow (god forbid) or someone drives into me and writes it off, I don't want to be left stumped on what to get next, and have to buy a **** to trundle around in, absorbing my spare cash, while I figure it out. So my thinking is really "what's my next car going to be", whenever that is, rather than I'm actually looking to buy something right now. By the sounds of it it's the kind of speculation a few of us petrol heads engage in regardless of what we drive or how happy we are with it! Indeed there is nothing wrong with speculating, or being prepared by know what you would get next if you were to get rid, or if the worst ever happened. Just sounds like, if the right car popped up for sale tomorrow you wouldnt hesitate. I've contemplated this same question myself, but can never seem to come to a conclusion as to what to get next if i was put in that position. I just wouldnt know what to replace the C with. There's nothing that distictive out there that interests me to be honest or at least nothing that is within the budget. I can think of other cars of similar age to the C that i like but if i had to swap the C for something i'm feeling it would be for something a little newer. But for now and the foreseable future i'm happy :D
  11. Note the title of thread... but it does sound like you are seriously considering getting rid, are you?
  12. I'm not enough of a chav to drive around with it open constantly but it's nice to have it on tap if I want it. Stumbled upon a little traffic light Grand Prix the other night, 3 lanes, civic type R on the far left, Astra VXR on the far right, I invited myself to join their mundane little rev-off in the middle lane, pulled up sounding like a creamy refined German cruiser, flicked the switch, did my best impression of an american muscle car, then proceeded to pull their pants down when the lights turned green..too much fun :D Bravo! 8) The Chavs WISH their 1.1s sounded like that
  13. http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/index.php I absolutely love it, nice bit of extra power and the soundtrack of godzilla on crack! Coolest thing I've fitted in a long time, youtube it for an idea of the sound 8) Sounds like a dragster.
  14. Yup, then have to either use a different key to get in OR retumble the lock. Repair kit is a ten min job to fit.
  15. You tried the irwins? Or any of the other suggestions on the poll? I wonder where Mr Sunderland has got to?
  16. Isnt the spare plug for the volt and oil meters you can put in the cubby hole - just to give you an idea what it might be for.
  17. I used a wire coat hanger too.. worked a treat for me.
  18. Ah nice one mate. Glad it was something simple. :D
  19. Please watch out - with the isv, when you take it out and look at the valve from teh side, the SMALL gap is meant to close when the ISV is actuated, so dont poke your srewdriver in there and try and force it, it wont go the other way! Best best is to get a cotton bud with some oil on it and press on the flap to gain some friction to open it then drop some oil down it. HTH. Ah.. thanks for pointing that out.... i didnt know. :salute:
  20. You can see it in this pic - sorry onl has one plug going into it.
  21. The front wings on later corrados 92> are slightly wider then the early ones. Dont think you can see it with the naked eye as its marginal.
  22. Not sure you could class it as a chuftie as such, but - Was on the way home today and saw a bloke stood at the of his drive with a camera, which had the biggest lens i have ever seen :norty: Im guess he'd just got it and was just outside giving it a test, as he was snapping pics of random things like trees etc as i passed he swang the camera my way and took some shots i passed. Enjoy the pics sir :salute:
  23. DId it pass, did it pass?! :D
