  1. That wire on the spring wouldnt fill me with confidence and that brake line needs sorting. Is it still like that or have you replaced it?
  2. how you manage that? Does vent come apart at the bottom? Magnet attached to some string  VR6 - can you help with my question?
  3. SIGH.... Yet another question  Im having problems with my heater direction controls. I've taken the heater controls apart to find the direction cog has snapped at the pin it sits on. The direction knob used to work, but you had to force it slightly to get it to point onto the windscreen, until one day it snapped. Anyway, after a little look and reading up on it, it would appear that the actual problem is the windscreen vent 'paddle' has become stiff for what ever reason (read that this can happen), thus has made the cable stiff and thus broken the knob. If i push and pull the cable i can here the vent moving but it only seems to move about 1cm (going by how the much the cable moves) Here my question - Can the windscreen vent 'paddle' be reached without taking out the dash as it appears to be just left of the instrument panel?
  4. Try the trim tape Halfords sell, its a thin rubber roll.
  5. Right guys, ive managed to take some more pics, apologies for any that are a little blurred. Oh and i measured the edge of the arches peak to the rim of the wheel again and it isnt 22mm its more like 13mm. Maybe you guys could say if i'd have any probs with the fuzz going by the pics and your own experiences - esp those with the wide borbets.
  6. Will Ferrari ever be in a winning position? They have to redesign the back of their car to accomodate the difusser, which wont be an quick task. End of season maybe? The problem is Sonicriot, you've done what i did and go for the drivers you'd like to do well (in my case Hamilton) and it hasnt worked out brill for me. I say get rid of massa (as least for now) and get someone like Vettel or button.
  7. Thats good to hear corradude. But in regards to the cops, i just dont want 3 points and a fine :( VAG-HAG - appreciate the offer mate, i'll bear that in mind :thumbleft:
  8. woohoo! up to 11th. Kempy - you can make up to 3 changes each race.
  9. MOT isnt for a while. But the car isnt on the road at the mo anyway.
  10. Erm ET 25 i think on the rears. When you say no problems, is that including getting it through the MOT? eeek, im worried now as i've just sold my speedlines so if it doesnt pass MOT with those alloys on im stuff - have to get a set of v.cheap alloys for MOT. I've rang a place about getting the arches pulled/flared and was told the arches will crack. Going to send him some pics later on as i cant take the car down at the mo.
  11. Odd because that's exactly how I set my KW-1's up, Left the rears as they cam out the box, and dropped the fronts a couple times just to get it level, but each time by the same amount each side. Did you measure from the bottom of the threads or from a locum on the strut (eg the bracket that bolts to hubs as we used)? Just in case one is threaded slightly more than the other? You have helper springs on both sides? Were they new/ 2nd hand? I measured from the bottom of the thread not from the locum. The coilies are brand new and both have helper springs. After doing a search on here i found a few people say, one of which was Kev, that its normal for the VR6 to sit slightly lower on the drivers side due to the weight of the engine. So all i did is lower the passenger is slightly lower. I've measured the gap between the top of the arch and the top of the rim and they're spot on now :D I wasnt really thinking it was the coilovers because i had the same situation with a previous set of coilover and shocks/springs.
  12. Apparently the person i bought the wheels off said the car they were fitted to had passed an MOT with them on. I guess i'll find out come MOT time. The tread is completely under the arch, but its more the small amount of side wall and wheel rim that's stick out that bothers me more then the stretch. I'll get a better pic this eve, showing the amount it sticks out. Swiftkid - did your 9" wheels stick out the arches at all?
  13. Hi guys, Just after a little advise really. I've fitted some deep dish 9" wide alloys - 9" on the rear only. Now the rears have streted tyres on, but they not silly stretched - 205/40 on 9" wide alloys. The tread is under the arch and the wheel rim is poking out of the arch by 22mm (i've attached som pics). Now i know this is a huge grey area going by what i've read on ED38, but im not sure if i'll have any problems with plod or not, as like i say they arent that stuck out nor is the tyre over streched (not like some i've seen) So, i was thinking if it came to it, i was going to see about getting the rear arches pulled. This is where i need the advice. i) How much on average will it cost to get the rear arches pulled? ii) Can this be done without having to have the rear arches painted (will pulling the arch crack the paint) iii) If 'ii' is the case, how much on average will it cost to get the arches painted and finally iv) Is it advised to just get the rears pulled, will it look silly with only the rear arches pulled - will it be noticeable if only the rears are pulled? I'll try get pic up tomorrow, viewing the car from the rear. Cheers guys Any advise appreciated.
  14. He doesnt have much luck does he mate? EDIT - removed any comments revealing any of the finishing positions, i wont ruin it for those who havent seen it yet.
  15. Yes he is mate, they were saying over qualifying that only 3 teams are using the KERS now, Mclaren, Force India and not sure who the other team is. Raikkonen isnt, yet he's only 5kg lighter. Hamilton must be fuelled light, because take 30kg off to compensate for the KERS and he's alot lighter then those around him, and considering he's not up front there for you'd expect him to run for longer - i'll probably be proved wrong tomorrow  EDIT - BMW is the other team - only Rosberg is using the KERS
  16. Afraid so mate. You can still drive the car, but expect tyre were.
  17. Well done to Vettel and even Webber. It should be a good race tomorrow :D Who's Felipe?
  18. i can give it a go tomorrow if you like. But are you sure you want white wheels on a white car?
  19. As i said mate you need a 4 wheel alignment once the suspension is fitted. It'll cost around £100 but that's the price of a tyre (ok just over). So worth spending the cash getting it set up if you're driving it anyway,
  20. Yeti - can you tell me what kind of weight is deemed heavy and light for a wheel? - just want to check the weight of my wheels.
  21. Hamilton improved in the first session, not as good in the second practice session. Hopefully he'll do well in the quali tomorrow. Need to make changes yet.
  22. Theres another rado on road wars cant remember exact details. But 2 coppers chasing a lad in a residential street and while they question him there is a blue corrado parked on their side of the road about 40 metres up the street, facing away from the camera. So thats 3.
  23. Aye mate, they got picked up today so should be with you by Friday.
  24. That speaking from experience  just teasing. ;)
