  1. I think its more or less the same distance, i havent changed the piping only the distance from the engine laterally. It was sat closer to the wing before. Not its closer to the engine. Maybe why? Im going to take another look at it over the weekend, given a chance :)
  2. Yeah definitely the case Jim. I think what helps too though is the fact modern cars have a similar look to them so this helps the Corrado and other older cars stand out more.
  3. I disagree (mainly cos i have the BMC  ) that the BMC is seen as Chav. With the BMC it emphasises the V6 noise - its induction noise as opposed to a chavvy exhaust noise (grr reminds me of the d!ck who lives in my street with a standard corsa with a huge back box on it - stupidly loud). Though, ive just bought a new bracket for it and ive been moving the bmc aroudn to get it to sit right, but seem to have lost some torque and power in the engine. Coincidence or positioning of the bmc has affected the breathing of the engine
  4. +2 on the BMC CDA. Thread would be over for me.... BUT bear in mind they're not cheap, even second hand ones arent cheap. IMO either go for the BMC or stay standard. As Jon said cone filter suck hot air in.
  5. They're fine as long as the lights are still the correct colours. People change the indicator bulbs to green so they flash yellow still through the red tint. Reverse lights - dont think they're tested in the mot, but often people mask the reverse lights up.
  6. My fuel consumption has got worse. hard to get over 25mpg now. But before was getting 33 on a good run. Never been able to get over that though.
  7. Yeah course, thanks for the input. It had crossed my mind, as its been colder on the morning here too, but im not that convinced its the weather.
  8. Yeah got a telescoping magnet. Jon - i see what you mean, but the weather wasnt THAT cold when i did the top rad pipe, then after that the temp was still sitting at 85. Its only been in the last half week~ that its struggling to get above 70. Also i idled it at home to 90 and then took it for a drive and the temp was dropping.
  9. Yeah getting it hooked up to vagcom is prob the next step... if i can get it working - its very temperamental! grrrrr Are all the bolts holding the housing to the side of the engine accessable without having to dismantle the front of the car?
  10. Hi all, Just trying to get some clarification on what i already think. Had a slight leak on the upper rad pipe just before the thermostat housing. Replaced the pipe and job done.... so i thought. But since that event the temp on the gauge hasnt been sitting at 90 as it used to do, it was at about 85.. but now its send 2000ems to be taking forever to get up to temp, hasnt sat at 90 and on the way home today was struggling to get over 70 on the gauge. Got home and let it idle and even held the revs at around 2000rpm and the temp was going up and did get to 90. So i took it for a spin and sure enough the temp started to drop again, went to just below 85. Am i right in thinking the thermostat is shot? Is it possible for the thermostat to get screwed up due to a leak, i wouldnt have thought so, its a simple piece of kit - maybe just coincidence. [shrug] Thoughts welcome
  11. 8) Wild-Animal - is there a BMC CDA on that or a 6 branch?
  12. Yeah i knew that one as ive had the pleasure of trying to get it out in the past - PITA. But i think its the actual lid thats squeaking.
  13. They've never been undone i dont think. I'll check that out though mate cheers :D
  14. Rear parcel shelf - shelves either side squeak. The glove box rattles as does something on the leading edge of the dash where it meets the window - possibly the grille in the middle. Drivers window - need to fit the new rollers. Drivers seat occasionally squeaks. uh hum
  15. Looking good Dave. Will the sharper angle be ok with water flow? Is it the same diameter as the original, looks a smaller diameter but that could just be me? Where you get the rubber seal from?
  16. Then i will try the recommended laquer. Cheers Kev. Hoping i wont make it worse! haha.
  17. Good luck mate. But if it was me id rather spoil the grille than fry any wires etc or have to replace a window at that price. BUT a second hand window could be an option could it not?
  18. Yeah you could say they're the "no frills" of the suspension world haha. The G-Maxx are the same as the V-Maxx- ive had V-Maxx before and they were cheap for a reason. Crashy and bouncy at the same time. They lasted about 6 months then id had enough. Id advise you not to buy them, but obviously the decision is yours!
  19. Cheers fella, appreciated. Want to get these sorted before they get worse - they're only small at the mo.
  20. Cool. What grade paper are we talking, 2000grit? Ryan - i'll try get some pics, but wont be until weekend as its dark by the time i get home
  21. Hi all, Noticed some spots (dunno why they've come up in half a dozen spots) of laquer peel on my bonnet. Short of getting it repainted. Is there anything i can do to sort this. Possibly rub it down with some fine wet and dry and respray and buff? Is that optimistic of me?
