  1. yeah they're hubcentric. Wheel wobble is when the spacer isnt completely central to the hub and cant cause the steering wheel to shake. Can cause wheels to come off as it stresses the bolts, but i think thats just extreme cases. Still, id avoid them. Ive had a set of the 3mm hubcentric ones on the corrado for a for about 2 years and no issues. Worth spending the cash on them. Bin the universal ones.
  2. If the spacers are the type that are to accomodate various stud patterns then dont bother with them. Look on ebay you can get 3mm 5x100 spacers or 4x100 and the centre hole fits perfectly over the hub. They work a treat. Not expensive. EDIT - just looking on there now. I got some 5x100 3mm spacers for about £15 on ebay. None that cheap now, but there is some for £25. Wouldnt have to worry with wheel wobble or anything.
  3. Mentioned this to my mechanic.. apparently the Fiat 500 twin air uses this technology.
  4. Yup. I love the BMC CDA... sounds awesome :D
  5. Haha... damn.... best bring the credit card  Beeston B&Q retail park i gather you mean? - Please no fast food places. Fox and Grapes would be good, also DiamondTony was saying there's a meet at the steak joint in Garforth- on the roundabout used to be the Old George pub?
  6. I'd be up for this, prob not in the Corrado though :( can i still be invited? :D
  7. No worries :) I just know from experience that water can get from behind the headlight. Gave the car a rinse down yesterday with a hose and water was sitting behind the headlight where the air filter would be (i have a BMC CDA not a standard filter) so i suspect the water could have got into the airbox and soaked the filter.
  8. Ah yes, i know where you live :) will keep an eye out.
  9. Ah good to hear. :) though better not to find out
  10. Wow.. was just tryin to help with suggestions buddy. And water can get behind the light through use of jet washes or just road spray, was just a suggestion.
  11. Tony - its not this rado is it? Was parked up in Crossgates around lunch time today. Though this looks more mint than Kiwi.
  12. Good info Tim. Thanks! Always used full synthetic on my motors.
  13. Any of you guys had experience with "slime" puncture stuff. Was tired of getting thorns etc in the tyres (on hybrid where there is no centre grip blocks), got some "slime" put into the tyres of the new bike, but yet to experience how good it is (thankfully). The guy at the shop swore by it. Opinions?
  14. Wow. Glad you and your family are reasonably ok. What happened to the chav - hope he got done for dangerous and careless driving. Boils my pee!
  15. Just got myself a Marin shoreline trail 29er, replacement to my specialized hybrid - love it. Its only got front suspension, but i dont do big jumps etc and im a casual rider- it does the job. Alot better than the hybrid for my needs.
  16. Strange as i THINK the rubber of the air filter creates a seal when the airbox is clipped together. Is the filter itself wet? Its not water getting in the front of the airbox, behind the headlight is it?
  17. Ive found myself preferring to drive my more modern B5.5 Passat... as a daily at least. Getting out of it and into the Corrado, i find the corrado less comfortable and noiser. But it is a V6, with less sound deadening and it is 10 years older - the cabin creaks and rattles. The Corrado is alot more raw to drive. But its so much more of an event driving it than the Passat. For me regardless if it gets out performed by modern cars, as said above, it draws the crowds, people asking questions about it and generally much more attention. Dont get that with the Passat. So imo its irrelevant about performance as the Corrado is so much more than that.
  18. To be honest, i can imagine how they'd look in black and think they'd look fine.
  19. You put this up on ED38 didnt you? Although it can be fun, im sure its annoying when all you want is a pick of some wheels on a car and all you get is pish takes. Thought someone had posted a serious picture up for you already?
  20. Put pics up mate, will have a go, my PS skills arent brilliant but will give you an idea. What wheels, maybe googling the pic will bring something up.
