  1. Think yourself lucky its not a rear one, they are a lot more expensive!!!
  2. Well gone for one from ECP now, i know it maybe not as good as OEM but thats not looking promising going all the comments. Can get it at a discounted price of £88 inc vat and also can get it for tomorrow. Not sure my car will last much longer to be honest.
  3. Thats the dilema. I know the rule "buy cheap buy twice", but £200 - is that before VAT by the way??
  4. Yeah think that may have to be the option ill take (it usually is). My sisters boyfriend works at ECP but at £175 even with discount i cant see it being as cheap as the one my mechanic can get from him suppliers. ---------- Post added at 02:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:37 PM ---------- Try this place Alex - http://www.carcooling.co.uk/catalog/VW_Corrado_88-1255-1.html http://www.adrad.co.uk/car-radiator/catalogue.php?&manu=VOLKSWAGEN&model=CORRADO&year=1993 http://www.northernradiators.co.uk/products/car_radiators/volkswagen_radiator/corrado_radiator/index.html - This is the cheapest place.
  5. Good call pug. Shes certainly hot totty.
  6. Hi all, My radiator is springing leaks left right and centre. Ive checked with my mechanic and he can get me one for £110 plus vat. ECP do them for £175!!! I didnt realise these were so expensive, or am i being a cheap skate! Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere that does them cheap, can they be got for cheaper?
  7. Missed the beginning of it :( Only saw from the Mini onwards. I do love the E-type but really love that Eagle Roadster and (stupid or not) if i had the cash i would spend the half million on it. Beautiful car!
  8. Welcome to the forum mate. Car looks nice! :D
  9. Yeah mine was the same mate, took a few attempts to get it out and plenty of swearing. Not the best thing to grip either. Try pushing down slightly when you twist. Make note of the position its sat.
  10. Sorry for tge bad news mate. hope you can get it sorted by means of a new engine or rebuild. hate to see corrados being broken. but know its not an option for everyone, its a lot of money after all
  11. When is it at 95-100? Idling, after a spirited run or just general use?
  12. Suppose Kev could correct me if im wrong but if its stem seals then a rebuild would sort it, if oil is getting passed the piston rings then its more likely that the bores have oval'd (VRs are prone to it) and a new head will be needed. Chains and guide wouldnt NEED doing necessarily, but seen as its all out you may as well. Not sure how much for parts and labour etc. Another option would be an engine conversion. Or a refurbed VR engine from Vege - which was a shade under £2k, when i got mine done in 2008 and thats just for the engine - you'd have to transfer the ancillaries etc over to new engine. Thats also on a exhchange basis and also only available when Vege actually have a VR engine.
  13. See my post. Its burning oil by the look of it, that is exactly how my plugs looked. Stem valve steals or piston rings.
  14. Had similar issue with my VRs old engine. Plugs were fouled with oil causing misfire. Oil fouling is generally one of 2 things, either piston rings or steam seals. Any particular plug thats fouled? Do you get blue smoke from exhaust at all?
  15. Glad im not the only one mate. I get this on my work PC which runs win 7 which has IE8, it used to work, then it stopped working - greyed out as you say. I'll try firefox at work tomorrow.
  16. Im with Coullstar on this, cheap coilovers are nasty and ride rather badly - they bounce (based on having V-maxx coilovers). If money cant stretch to a decent set of coilovers id go for a decent set of springs and shocks eg Weitech which are only as expensive as a cheap set of coilovers i believe. I also wouldnt go putting lowering springs on standard shocks as this can cause the shocks to bottom out and wear out.
  17. Sounds like the pump needs replacing. The gauge can be a few thinks, it cane be the sender on top of the pump - see if the contact the sender slides across has worn down and can cause issues with the gauge. There is also a chip/module (sorry forget its correct name) in the gauge which can go but ive tried it and it didnt work. Or it could be the gauge itself. But most likely to be the sender. Though bear in mind that Corrado's are notorious for inaccurate fuel gauge. But it depends how inaccurate yours is. In regards to the pump and sender, if you choose to change the pump you may need to change the sender to. Early corrados had piersburg pumps with the piersburg sender. Where as later had VDO pump and sender. Be warned also that the cap that sits in the top of the fuel tank that has the fuel lines from the front of the car attached can differ to the pump. My cap said Piersburg so i assumed it was a piersburg pump, thus i bought a piersburg sender. When infact the pump had been replaced at some point and was a VDO pump needing a VDO sender - £100 odd quid wasted on the Piersburg sender. For sale if you need it. But i can imagine you'll need to change the pump if its whining and will no doubt be a VDO replacement.
  18. Try scanning again but changing the latency settings on the USB port by going to computer under control panel > system > Device manager. Change it to about 5.
  19. Beautiful looking VR Storm near to sainsburys, in Colton, Leeds. Pulled up along side for a quick word - he'd only had car 3 weeks and only lives down the road from me. Told him to get his ass on here! :D
  20. He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy! (sorry just couldnt resist) David how about putting up a top 10 or top 5 of the members who've posted the most words?
  21. Right spoke to my mechanic. He told me he thinks they were obsolete as of 2010. However his supplier MAY be able to get hold of 4 spoilers, this number isnt a dead cert but ive told him to get what ever he can, if he can. Sorry for the uncertainties.
  22. Ok noted. I'll ring tomorrow and see if there are any left. That was about 6 months ago so not promising anything, but i'll do my best.
  23. I'll check on monday, as i got one through my mechanics suppliers and im sure he said there were plenty left (50mm). Happy to get some ordered for people if they still have some.
  24. Ah lol my bad haha i thought late only had 50mm didnt realise it was only 95. Sorry oops I got a 50mm in last 6 months from dealers.
